From Upper Bavaria round the world - WeŽll start in June 2011!

Hello to everybody!

We are a couple - Bea 27 years old and Helle 29 years old - from Upper Bavaria in Germany.

WeŽll start on our motorbike world tour with our two Honda Transalps - year of construction 1991 and 1993 - in June 2011.

WeŽll drive trough eastern Europe (Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia) till Vladiwostok. From there weŽll ship to Thailand. There weŽll ride a round to Cambodia and Laos before weŽll drive southbound to Australia. There we eventually will do a little work & travel to fill up our vacation fund.
Then weŽll ship to Alaska to ride the famous Panamericana to Tierra del Fuego. Maybe, if we have enough money, weŽll visit some more areas in Canada and North America. But thatŽll come up...

If you want to know more about us and about our journey, then visit our homepage www.timetoride.de

We hope to get more information about foreighn countries in this forum and - eventually - contact to lokal bikers which can give us tips to their contries. We would be very pleased to hear from you!

Greets from Upper Bavaria
Bea & Helle

PS: please excuse our bad German-English, but we hope to get better during our journey!

No problem!

Here are some pics from our tours last year. We almost drove throughout Europe and we had a lot of fun, met very nice people and saw great landscapes. Amongst others we went to the Czech republic, to Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania and Greece.
We hope, that this will go on this year!

Thank you very much for the invitation! We are looking forward to visit you, when we are in the USA! But it will still take some time before we arrive there. If everything goes as planned, we will arrive in the USA at the earliest around the middle of next year...

But, first of all we have to start our journey. But there is not much time left, in about 6 weeks we will start!!!

We also have some new infoŽs about our latest motorbike modifications, our equipment and so on... on our homepage www.timetoride.de now!

And since a few weeks, we even have our own Facebook page which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Time-...5143396?ref=ts

We need help to ship 2 motorbikes from Vladivostok to South East Asia!!

Hello to everybody!

We had started our world trip at the 18th of June and at the moment we are in Ulan Bataar / Mongolia.
So far, our trip is very amazing and we had a very good time, meeting very interesting people, seen amazing landscapes… we love it!

On our homepage www.timetoride.de and on our facebook-page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Time-t...15955945143396 you can find our latest travel reports and many pictures.

But now we have a real problem. We will try to ship our 2 motorbikes from Vladivostok to somewhere in South East Asia, Bangkok is our preferred goal. But we canŽt find any informations about shipping bikes from Vladivostok to Bangkok. We will arrive in Vladivostok in about 2 – 3 weeks we think.

Maybe some of you have an advice for us or knows people who had shipped their bikes the same way or knows a shipping company or some lokals in Vladivostok?

We would be very pleased of any kind of help!
Thank you very much!

Bea & Helle

Some bikers in South East Asia at the moment and the next 3 month?

Hello everybody!

At the moment we are in Bangkok and a few days ago the container with our bikes finally arrived from Vladivostok!

In 2 days weŽll start our South East Asia tour. At first weŽll visit Cambodia. The beach, the famous Angkor Wat and the capital Phnom Penh. Then weŽll follow the Mekong River up to Laos, visiting several places there before weŽll enter the North of Thailand.

Then weŽll go down, crossing ThailandŽs south and after that, weŽll visit Malaysia and Indonesia, before weŽll ship our bikes from Timor Leste to the next big goal on our motorbike world trip: Australia.

WeŽll spend the next 3 month in South East Asia, so, if some of you coincidentally are in this area at the moment or in the next time, please contact us, if you want!

We would be happy to meet other travelers or locals!

Many greetings
Bea & Helle

PS: Recently we put our Mongolia travel report and a very nice video about our experiences in this amazing country online!

Hi Bea & Helle.

It looks like you have made good progress and are certainly having the trip of a lifetime. You both must have seen so much already and so much more to comme. What has been the best country or best thing to happen so far ?
Can I also ask how the bikes doing and what about spare parts; after all like my 88 Transalp they are quite old bikes now.

Thanks and
Ride safe both.

Cheers
Potski

Hi Potski,
the best country we visited on our trip was Mongolia. Whole eastern europe was amazing with friendly and helpful people and really nice landscapes. But Mongolia was really fascinating.
I renewed the bikes before starting so we had very small problems. The rack was broken..thatŽs all and of course checking oil and chain. Now iŽve made a complete service with new chain and oil...and our experience is, itŽs never a problem buying spareparts, the only thing you need a lot of time for searching and finding the right things.
Anyway i think you can solve these problems.

Nice greetings from us...and maybe we see you somewhere...
Bea & Helle

Hi Bea & Helle,

Sounds like Mongolia must be really good, others have said the same. Amazing, how little trouble you've had with the bikes, your detailed preparation of them is certainly paying off. Looking forward to reading more of your adventure.

Ride safe.

Cheers
