Sure, you really badly want that new German Boxer, admit it
...just like the rest of us, there's simply nothing that compares with it right now, right?

I do admit that I like what I read. Still, the Tiger is an absolute blast to ride, and in some ways better for me than the GS was. The suspension on the GS was too harsh for me - 72kg isn't the typical Bavarian build ...

The Tiger is better adjusted to my taste at this point, but I have high hopes with the new suspension on the new GS and the new windshield also looks a whole lot more thought out than the old POS.

So, yes, the GS is a hard to beat package, the Tiger was better for me personally, but I think the new GS can surpass it and I also learned my hatred for chains all over again. I plain hate the idea of chain drive on my main ride. I'd take belt over chain any day for my style of riding.

Maybe you were right after all Jim, it seems that there's already a special edition helmet.

I like "Wasserboxer" better, what's a wethead?
The BMW marketing dude said that the new engine is "precision cooled" and not merely water cooled, haha...

Wethead for me, lets move on.
Others who have sexual issues with it, need a partner, not a bike.

Sadly 110kg aint a regular size either..... if you're not in that sweet zone, ESA's a bitch as it means I ride around with single rider and luggage mode on....

Be nice if you could option for a stronger preload.....

*(yes I know, lose weight, but I bench more'n I weigh, got to, just to get the GSA upright! )

It certainly looks pretty bad, but I really never noticed. I noticed the hacking, kicking, and bucking of the Multi below 3.5k rpm (Disclaimer: the one I tested was super bad, there seems to have been improvements and the 2013 adds a lot of improvements for this, too) much more and it annoyed me much more than the weird torque curve of the boxer.

I had a 2010 R1200GS and this curve was barely noticeable when riding. There was a bit of a dip around 5k rpm, but it wasn't bad or so. And in normal riding, the behavior below 5k was much more important for me. I'm not certain how much you'll actually feel the dips on the new one. Time will tell.
OK, I put together a table using values from the above chart and the Woxer torque curve I previously posted. Here are the torque values for each and the % increase for the Woxer engine:

Nm Torque

RPMCamheadWoxer% Inc.

3,000 991088.3%
4,000 1091122.8%
5,000 1131228.0%
6,000 1201221.7%
7,000 10812313.9%

I've been reading this thrad for a long time now, I now believe BMW have released a youtube video brain washing you all. "ze stupid peoples vill never know Vy zay shtopped liking ze Triumph, he he"
Don't get me wrong I'm a GS fan and have ridden boxers almost exclusively for the last 15 years. But Jeez the hedonism in this thread is driving me away. Lets get some real world tests before anouncing it has taken over from sliced bread.

The Woxer looks like real a torque monster from the get-go, can't wait to try it.

Does the wethead have that valve?

I think it was more for extra back pressure to increase torque at low RPM a la Yamaha's EXUP system than it was for noise.

Good point.
Actually as much as I like what I see I'm also 100% happy with my 2010 camhead. There's nothing I miss when riding it.
Personally I wouldn't jump ship without having seen the real thing, too much money...
Do I think that the 2013 will be a success? Almost 100%.
