Even the Star Trek universal translator wouldn't work on this.

I'm thinking if you drank enough that statement you quoted would make perfect sense.

Nope. Tried that on another thread.

Well if you take of your BMW rose colored glasses and stop drinking their cool aid for a second, you might notice that Triumph offers cruise on their Explorer model. Plus heated seats.

Just sayin ;-)

It's perfectly OK to love the GS.
But if you want to start talking crap about other brands/bikes, please have the courtesy to know wtf you are talking about.

Where in that post did he say Triumph didn't? I don't see any mention of Triumph at all. I see mention of 3 existing competitors in the ADV scene who don't have the features he lists.

Reading things that aren't written, I'm afraid.

German MOTORRAD showed some engine pictures, saying BMW using a lot of their automotive know how in castings at their Landshut factory. Cast integrated oil channels instead of more expensive drilling/machining.
Oil pump has 2 rotors now, one for lubrication of the main and connecting rod bearings, the other only for the clutch lubrication and for engine cooling. There are 2 cooling circuits, basically integrated hear exchangers in the front area of the cylinder head.

Pricing?

A friend of mine found a little tid bit of info.

We went to the BMW Motorrad, selected the wethead, and then clicked the finance button. SelectWA, USA and....

http://estimator.bmwmotorcycles.com/estimator.aspx

$18445.00

Now to double check they are not referring to 1200 gs of today, I checked the 2012 GS; $16150.00.

So, possible pricing of the new wethead?

Hmm interesting. There is a 2013 camhead GS though too. But not sure why the price on that one would be increased so much over 2012 though.

That's a red herring, as the GSA price has gone up by the same amount between 2012 and 2013. They are just guessing.
