We have yet to see a review that actually demos new GS light system (LED and no LED).
If I am wrong correct me.

Makes sense since AFAIK no presentation was made yet that allowed night riding (?).

Let's hope this gets "fixed" soon.

Maybe Baluchon could rectify this when he goes for the next One World trip?

Shawn wrote that they had a light on a pivot to play with and it was very bright. But a review from actual usage would be nice indeed.

I also think the bars would need to be removed for valve checks/adjustments. If you look closely, the bars hide the rocker cover bolts

I've seen them in action during the motor show, bright, but in a well lit rom I can't make a judgement.

I emailed my local dealer to get a final price put in an order, but I never heard back. I guess I have to go there in person with a couple stacks of high society.

Yep, they may be coming alright, but as far as a test ride is concerned, here in Spain they don't know what that means and the dealers just smile and at you when you suggest a test ride. If you were to ask for one directly as you would normally do in any other civilized European country, they would look at you as if you had just landed from Mars.

What the F@ck is up with Spain? Apart from it's current corruption saga!

P.S. When one of you guys buy one, any chance of a test ride?

I think they are just running them in.

There are a couple (at least) in Greece too but not given for test ride.

Inmates who have put a deposit down on the new GS

Chime in! I'd like to know who has their deposit down. Has anyone created a poll for who has put a deposit down/plan on purchasing the bike? Would be interested to see how many folks are going to get it.

I put money down the day I sat on it at the Seattle show. I was told I was 4th in line at the time (mid December), but I think they were fudging a bit. I ordered a fully loaded red one, but will demo the crap out of it before I make a decision. Its between that an F800GS. I was told late last week that the Seattle shop would be seeing 4 LC's in March, one is a demo, so mine would be April.

too bad they don't take any bikes in for the testrides. I'm pretty sure dealers get an extra discount on the demo bikes in order to be sold a bit cheaper later in the season. Maybe take a trip to the south of France as I'm sure they'll surely have some demos waiting for you

Deposit down a month ago; same I day put my 06 up for sale.

Told I'm (one of?) the first in Denver area but was unable to put an order in so according to dealer it just depends on what they "get". Hoping they get a white one with spoked wheels and other gadgets, IF not then

More worried about this than the chance of test riding it and being disappointed... Once I got past the decision to get a new model year bike I've been psyched and just a little impatient.
