This definitely needs a recall!
(and you still need a better camera than iPhone's )

I just dropped by my dealer to get an update (Seattle).

1. The LC they received late last week (posted short video of it on Saturday about 10 pages back) was a mistake and was promptly re-crated and is being shipped back to California. No idea what happened there. I believe it was one of the first to see the light of day in the US, besides the One World One GS bikes that left Long Beach a few days ago. Here's the thread on that.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...=865982&page=2

2. Seattle is showing that their demo is being shipped from CA and they should get it as early as next week. For some stupid reason, its the stripped down model; no LED headlight, no ESA, no ASC. Dumb.

3. Their inventory also shows that a couple have made it through production and a couple are in production, likely trickling in over the next 4-5 weeks to Seattle. It appears they are mostly red and fully loaded with spoked wheels.

4. I have a Red one on order with Premium Plus Package and spoked wheels. So does a couple of the folks in front of me and I'm #5 on the list.

Based on their inventory system, I might be lucky to see mine by May.

Speaking of recalls while still being far, far off topic, I thought y'all might be amused by this NHTSA complaint:

edit: The link seems to fail...here's the complaint:

Manufacturer: KAWASAKI MOTORS CORP., U.S.A.
Vehicle Identification No. (VIN): JKAEX8A1XDD...
SUMMARY:

I WAS RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE AND COMING TO A RED LIGHT. I HELD IN MY CLUTCH TO GET READY TO DOWNSHIFT, BEFORE I COULD EVEN START DOWNSHIFTING, THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND I HAD TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN WHEN I WAS AT THE STOP LIGHT. *TR

returning now to GS discussions....

Im still going to go down and snuggle it.

That's the one that was up at Ride West. Go snuggle quick because apparently its being shipped back.

The weird thing is, it seems to be the same damn bike, spec-wise, that is to be the RW demo. Go figure.

I know there was a poll started on "who is getting a LC GS"; would be interesting to have a poll started on colors ordered. Seems to be a mixed bag so far but not seeing any white? Mine will be red...

Agreed, especially with the very sharp looking matte gray finish. I am keeping my eye on those and the Globescout panniers.

I contacted them about panniers for the 2013 R1200GS and they said they will utilize Hepco & Becker racks (mid-April availability), have an exhaust cutout, with sizes of 37L for exhaust side and 45L for other side.

I know, right? The bag mounts look really solid and I like the very beefy hinge that has the little hidden button to allow it to unhinge.
