Wow.

You must be kidding, but I didn't get it either.

There are essentially 4:
- Trip I
- Trip II
- Odometer
- Trip A (Automatic odometer; available on Computer Pro)

The Trip A auto resets at night, but Trip I AND Trip II are user resettable.

For those of you trying to catch up here, here's the link to the Rider's manual. The odometer info starts on page 44 of the US manual.

Go here:

http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/index.html

Select "Service" in the submenu under "Home"
Select "Rider's Manual" in the left nav
Select "R models"
Select "0A11 - R 1200 GS (USA)" under "R models K50"

The trip meter remains "tripping" at 999.9 it carries on to 1000.0 and doesn't reset to zero.

I also noticed the ext temp go into double digits for the first time yesterday , it actually reached 11.5 C here in the UK, it's been <10 and often <0 since I've had the bike.

I suppose when it gets to triple digits it'll be a bigger problem for you folks than us....

Off the Showroom Floor Thursday

I rode mine out of the dealership Thursday afternoon and am a little over halfway to the 1st oilchange. This patience thing with the break in is my biggest challenge at the moment. It is a really enjoyable motorcycle with my only complaint being the little extension for the kickstand getting in the way of my gear changes.

Other than that, it is very nice. Now if only my engine guards and bags would become available!https://www.dropbox.com/s/tfrc59zr1xywo5v/DSC_0437.jpg

Got my 1,000 Km service done today and picked up my tankbag.

I'm very happy with it; I think it's very well made and detaches easily.

Looks OK. Does it get in your way when standing on the pegs and leaning forward a bit?

BMW 1200 GS LC costs

Does anyone have advice on where to get USA costs (assume MSRP) for not only the different models of the 1200 GS LC but options like spoked wheels, etc. Currently I am in Afghanistan (don't ask) and I cant just trundle down to the nearest BMW dealer. Any easy to navigate pricing info appreciated.

Yet one more 1200GS LC video. No review but at the end of the video you can see the digital readout of the speed in the digital part of the instrument. Nice engine sound at the end.

Max :-)
