There's several people all over the States taking delivery of bikes different from what they ordered, I guess it's impatience. I had to settle with one with no spokes, it's got everything else though. I figure if I really need (want) the spokes I'll buy them later. For now I'm glad to be able to put the trip we had planned back online (knock on wood!!).

I have read on here that the top case is taller than the previous one and it looks that way in the pictures as well. I don't know if your helmet will fit though or not.

Thanks for your reply !

Perhaps someone that has one could kindly measure its internal height in the raised position ?

EJ, call Long Beach and ask how many they've got for demo and other that customers picked up. I believe they do high sales than your local dealer.

We may as well be in North Korea given how slow the GS shipments are arriving here

UK salt corrosion

I've just posted a couple of pictures of the effects of the corrosive UK rock salt they put on the roads here. I meant to post them here but mistakenly put them in the "show us your 1200GS LC" thread. Might be worth a look if you ride in the UK

I wonder if it is something to raise some public reaction as it most probably doesn't involve just GS.

Those michelin tyres look good. I wander what type of wear they will give . Seems the new GS you can't go wrong with tyre choice.

Interesting video. Czech journalists decided to do something different than usual Maroko/RSA presentations and took the bike on an icy ride in the mountains. They were very impressed how the traction control managed up an icy hill.
