About the worst sock-related fashion faux pas I can think of is black dress socks worn at the gym.

To be honest: Who can take someone seriously dressed like that at a gym. I would think that is the guy from the towell service. There are clothes for riding and there are clothes for sporting.

But perhaps we should get back on topic.

In 2 hours time I'll face the rain for 100 miles.

Have you had a chance yet to use the Rain Mode...or will this be first time.

I've used rain mode many times. I ride in the rain more often than in dry conditions. But I only use rainmode when it is really pooring with rain and streets are flooded. Rain mode really numbs it down and traction control becomes over active and intervines at every little bump in the road (and we've got lots of those). So I'll keep it in road today. And I don't mind the rear wheel spinning a bit. And my hand is adapted a bit (driving more relaxed in the rain).

It's more comfortable for one up riding, is slightly higher and narrower, and looks better on the bike than the two separate seats IMO.

Rich, I reckon if your bike had come with the single seat you'd have the two-piece seat on it by now and be singing its praises.
