I've always been curious what a naked k1100 would be, haven't seen any pictures that I remember. That's sexy!

Ducati-like matte black. Could not agree with you more....Completely modern motorcycle with a touch of hooligan. I read through some of your threads Lukeman. You have travelled well and seem to really enjoyed your k. Some great travels with your partner. Very nice.

That is surprisingly good looking...

Do the original K100 and K75 bikes share anything significant with the later, more modern bricks (K1200RS, K1200LT, etc.).

I'd love to see a telelever'd K75 done up.

Paralever can be done but a telelever would be a major engineering effort.

They share enough that you can put a K1200LT engine in a K1100. I didn't do the conversion but I owned this K1100RS with a K1200LT engine for a while:

There's just something about these bricks, I really really love the way they look. With the custom paint and accents they look like an instant classic. Great motorcycles.

Odd isn't it? No-one gave them a second glance when they were in production. Most even considered them pig-ugly. The unfaired versions were almost despised (at least here in the UK), even by other BMW K-Series owners. Yet now?

The bloke who did the last annual safety-check on my 75C is your classic Japanese bike owner/mechanic. He commented that it was an aesthetically pleasing bike (well he actually grunted "I like the look of these").

Tastes change I suppose.
