This is alive again!

I'm watching the conversions, they seem to be very useful for all the bigwheel riders. I hope this could help you all to get the most of your bikes! (By getting things that may be useful for your bikes)

When are you posting new Enduro Alaska videos?
We are all eager to watch ned adventures! jaja!

I will have to get back to you in a little bit. I'm headed out the door right now to go riding. There is 12 inches of snow on the ground and I have a kitchen pass to go ride. Since the days are still getting shorter, I have to strike while the iron is hot. With the days growing shorter and shorter, daylight is precious, since the odds of an Air Guard Blackhawk finding me at night are smaller than daytime.

I'm back from the ride. All I can say is: "Don't sell!"

Ok. Well, maybe you can unload the 200, but don't unload the 350, especially if it is mint.

I bought one of my BigWheels in Albuquerque and rode it on some single-track outside of Boulder before shipping it to Alaska. I felt that I was defying death at every corner. So, I know it is not the perfect machine in every circumstance. However, it is the most unique in every situation.

You just have to choose your battles wisely. Do that and you will be richly rewarded by your overweight, undersuspended charisma-machine.

Yeah you are probably right.

I am also positive that come the end of the day, even while riding the skinniest, knarliest, most tree riddled single track in the State, the sorest muscles will be those located on my face from the teeth baring smile I seem to wear every time I ride one of these machines!

I am a card carrying machinist and have a pretty nice home machine shop, so maybe I should bite the bullet and just rework the front wheel and install a disc up there?

Just cause we do not get much snow does not mean we do not have our share of cold days so what better way to spend some of the ones while holed up in the garage?

Also cudos on that latest video installment! That was GREAT! You guys sure do have some major league mud up there!

The simplest way to get a disk on the front end is to bolt Tri-Z components onto your BW. If you get Tri-Z triple clamps, then the entire proposition is simply bolt together and requires no machining.

The downside to the conversion is that the forks have a lot of underhang below the axle and makes life interesting in ruts and rocky terrain.

To answer your earlier question: I do use studs on the BIgWheel. They only get used for a small percentage of most rides but make the experience tremendously more enjoyable.

Leo,

The bike sits in the shop, battered and worn from the season's beating.

1.) The rebuilt exhaust has been recrushed

2.) Before the pipe got recrushed, it melted the clutch line

3.) Before that, both brakes failed

Otherwise, it was fairly reliable for the season. It's the same bike. It just has better graphics.

Hollywood should be working on it now but he's off riding his snowmachine instead.

Hi all,

I just traded for my first BW200. I already have a BW80 that I rebuilt this year. I want to get the best gear set up for slow hill climbing. I wam wondering if anybody would have any sugestions of the best way to do it. I am hoping that I can just change the rear gear out to a bigger size. Any info is appreciated. Also Mr. Bigwheel what psi do you run your bigwheel tires at in the snow.

Well, that are things you know that can happen when you ride a bike in an enduro way, jaja!

Lets wait for my DT, jeje!

I hope you can have lots of fun with your BWs Oly..
I would recommend you to buy or at least download a service manual and a parts manual so as to know more about your bike and the things it needs, and to know how everything is assembled and also how to disarm every part of the bike..

Olydog,

I sent you a PM off of the TW200 site (I think).

The easiest way to change the ratio on the BWs is to change the forward sprocket on the secondary chain (rear). Dropping the 14 tooth sprocket to a 13 tooth should drop your gearing to the point that you can climb a rope with your 200.

It is hard to change the big sprocket on the secondary because it is dished out and requires a machined spacer to reestablish the proper alignment for the chain.
