I built a BW500 out of a TT500 Dirt bike.
My current BW is a BW350/YZ400 hybrid.
I did all of the machine work, design, fabrication and welding for both bikes.
For the 500 I made the swingarm,both hubs,triple clamps,ect, ect.

These parts are simple to make and any competent machinist can make them.
I just make the offer for those that cannot do so.

I have not made the eccentrics for the chain adjustment but they are simple parts.

Any of this stuff is easily shipped if you need something.

I make the offer just to help people keep these bikes moving as I think they are cool and we are a good community of enthusiasts.

"tech" for LA-B-LV is a probe up the exhaust pipe to make sure you have a spark arrestor... the rest is on you.

Finally, my first ride!!!

So put it back together, put a small drop of gas in, started it up. ran like shit spuddering just like it had before. Said to the wife, fucked 2500 bucks. than thought wait, this is a dirt bike so it has res and fuel on. Changed it to res cause of the little gas I had in it. Man, it ran perfect. Took it for a ride on a "paved road". it's night time and i'm just bout ready for bed, so no time to hit trails. Gotta say I did a good job, cause honestly it sounds new. Glad I put the time into changing a few carb parts. no more leaks too.

I painted the exhaust with header paint, did the light cowl with krylon plastic spray, turned out nice, previous owner had painted it, but looked shitty and old. painted the metal inside the light cowl as well as aluminum paint on back of the light. Basically tryin to freshin er' up.

She's definitely gutzy, can't wait to climb some hills.

Deaver,

That's great news. Glad it's finally running right for you. Once you start riding the BW, you'll never run the 4 wheeler again.

Shercoman,

I have a set of eccentric bushings and the fiber swing arm bushings ready to ship if you are up for another project.

I may also have to send you another wheel for modification but I'm so conflicted over the whole 10 inch vs. 12 inch argument that I'm paralyzed with indecision.

I have a new 350 that is going to require the full treatment to turn it into a race bike.

Regards,

Mr. BigWheel

Hey,

For my roadlicense I need a side stand that folding?? on its own.
So I can not take the original one. Does someone already tried another side stand on a bw200?

Regards,

Röhrich

New to the club, just traded into a 1985 BW200. Smokes some but I don't know if it needs rings or just the crap ran out of it for a bit. Will end up looking for tires soon.

just cleaned my carb on my 350, might be a good idea to change the O-rings while you have it apart. as they may be 20 odd years old. pluse loosen the airbox for ease of removing and reinstallation of the carb. I tore my large O ring on the carb joint between the motor and the carb when I returned the carb to its place. also my float bowl gasket was wore to shit and leaked.
