I got this helmet for X-Mas and have liked it so far. The ratchet is nice but I would like some way to lock it to the bike with the helmet lock. I think I saw something about this before I bought the helmet but cannot find it now. From what I remember it was a metal piece with a T shape and a hole at the bottom. You could slide it through the ratchet, the top of the T kept it from going all the way through and then put the helmet lock through the hole at the bottom. I usually just put the helmet on a mirror but sometimes it would be nice to secure it to the bike. Anyone else found something like this or how do you solve this?

Kinda pricey. I'd probably just make my own like that.

WOW! Kinda pricey?!!!
![]() How can that be so expensive? ![]() Two of those and I could pretty much get a new helmet. I guess I'm just going to have to trust the honesty of others. I'm gonna have to start adding some stickers to personalize it and make it less appealing to someone walking by. |

i've been stalking the interwebs looking for the Gold Mirror shield for this helmet. The closest i can find is the Fly branded part number "Gold Mirror 73 - 3934" everywhere seems to be out of stock on it. Any ideas?

I've got a 2xl and find the cheek pads too tight. I see there are other cheek pads available but need to know if other sizes will be thinner.

Is the Fly a significantly different helmet than the AFX -- they look so similar? I mean is there a difference in the sizing? Shape? interior materials, what? |

I took some photos of each helmet that I'll be throwing on my site.. but they are very very similar. The Fly fits great.. and since, as BP mentioned, is pretty much the same helmet but from different molds. The AFX has black insets on the back of the helmet where the Fly is same as the helmet color. I have really good photos of each I'll get up tonight..
Also, the AFX has a latch type closure where the Fly has the standard loop rings closure. The latch is cool... but I still find hooking it up the old fashion way just feels right The Fly padding feels perfect on my melon.. I'm very pleased with the fit of the Fly Large.. as it feels much more like my Shoei DS Hornet Large.. I'll post a link of the photos for everyone... |

I should add.. yes the molding of the two are different, the AFX mouth guard area is much closer to your face.. where as the Fly is like my Shoei.. My nose would hit the nose guard on the AFX. The interior is similar but the Fly has a bit difference to it.. not really better or worse. I have photos of that too..
