I an email I got from Atomic-Moto, Brian (Brtp4) said he was was looking into whether a Fly liner would fit.

I had a similar idea, but a quick check of couple of sites showed that Fly liner is also nowhere to be found.

I've been looking at an entry level helmet and think the 39 might be a good choice. However, on AFXs site they make mention of the fx-41.... I just can't find anymore info on it.

http://www.afxhelmets.com/helmets/dualsport/index.php

I tried liking it on Facebook as they suggest but I still didn't see any mention of it. Anyone heard anything? I'd rather not get the 39 if the 41 is about to be released.

This is from back in March, some details are TBD:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater

FX-41 has a flip-down visor and a much quieter liner. Price is targeted at $189-ish. Made in a different factory, and will be more refined than the 39. Release will be Fall, at least 4-5 months away. FX-39 will stay in the line, so AFX will have two models.

I'll post up some addl pics tomorrow.

Too bad that's a ways off. I guess I'll be getting the 39 for now. Thanks for your help! That new helmet looks nice.

The 41 does look nice, and I like the inner visor. My 39 with the external visor is a great helmet.

Was the chin curtain ever released?

No, it wasn't. My understanding is that AFX is caught between the factories minimum order qty and their distributors willingness to order them. These issues are somewhat ridiculous, but also real.

I got my AFX 39 for like $105, what's in it for almost twice the price?

Mine too. I think lots of places are clearing out inventory. I really like the one I have.

I see multiple detentes for the shield position.
That's a BIG plus to me, the sheild postions (or lack of) drives me nuts on the 39.

Also the ability to remove the shield without messing with the visor.

Not worth 2x's as much but nice upgrades.

Gentlemen, good news is that you will still be able to get the FX-39s.

Thanks,

That's good to know. I really haven't warmed up to the new "Star Wars" look of the 41.
