hmm

That is a long ways from now. If I have 650 registered and insured then yes I am in. My dumb ass lost the title (well I put it somewhere real safe).. And while he PO is real cool he lives in nowhere east WA and there is not a DMV anywhere near him. So I am looking into what hoops I need to jump through to get another title so I can get her all Oregon legal.

Dog bite at work. Not as bad as it looks, as they wrap you to immobilize your fingers...

Let me know on the weekend rides!

Maybe a chance we can make it, depends on orchard, weather & kids. If we do go we will have to deploy the T.D.V. due to the fact that "crashclay's" KLX 250 can't run with the big dogs on the freeway!

Sounds like fun. Not sure what I have going next Monday but if it's nothing that can't wait until Tuesday I'd like to ride. I'll know more at the end of the week.

Thanks for the offer

That's why I had to quote it here, it is very relevant to the ride we took with Easy-Z and Flat Stanley.
And I just gotta get to Craig's John Day crossing that he posts in his Thread. dvwalker just went to the John Day crossing last weekend, too

Don't get to worked up over the road down to McDonald Ferry, it's nothing like Freebridge Rd. but being able to see the Oregon Trail running up and out of the canyon is great.
Agree there's nothing really special about McDonald Ferry except for the OR trail history. Although would be cool to ford across during low water and continue a bigger loop east. The old trail road towards the bottom would also be cool to ride but it's signed private "no trespassing"

I've got clients that get visited by a herd (gaggle?) of over 150 Turkeys on most days. That's quite a sight.
There's a group of 30 to 40 turkeys that roost each evening in a certain section of fir trees on my property. When they're getting ready to settle down each night, they take flight and basically crash land into the branches. Quite the spectacle.

I was planning on that, if you were gonna ride.
9:30 - 10 ?? in TD? Depends on how many we gather in HR, and just how long that takes us.

Cell phone works fine now, it turns out that I had accidentally set up call forwarding on my end, pushing some buttons I shouldn't have

So, we got a big red IN! from el guapo nada,
and some definite-wanna-do-it-but-won't-quite-commit-maybes from:

I think you guys need to look outside today, see the rain,
then go look at the weather forecast for Monday, East of The Dalles.
The big yella orb and lack of clouds in that forecast might push you a bit to go with us.

Craig, I'd be quite happy to take all the long ways we can find to get to where we wanna go, Freeways SUCK !!

Old Dalles Rd to Elder (snow pending) to Huskey into Mosier, Dry Creek past Osborn Cutoff by dvwalkers place to 7 Mile hill into The Dalles, 15mile to Moody @ the Deschutes, Fulton Canyon to Wasco.

Another nice alternative to bypass slabe into the dalles from mosier is vensel to chenowth to browns creek to wahtonka rd to cherry heights, mostly dirt to cherry heights.

Have fun, wish I wasn't working...

That route up Vensel and 7mile hill might have to wait 'til later this year.
More fresh snow today at 1400 ft elevation -

Well, we got the kids checked off the list now it's down to orchard and weather. If it's nice Sat. & Sun. and I can spray then we will be good to go!

As for riding over the Old Dalles road, ONE MORE TIME, I think that we will still opt-out for the T.D.V. (Tactical Delivery Vehicle, trailer just sounds so boring ) on this one. There is so much over there to ride, and it's super easy to park at the Deschutes River and ride from there.

Gosh Apple and gang... You guy's are planning on some fun... I go Archery hunting in the territory you men are riding and during the summer months the Western Diamond's (Crotalus atrox) are thick. Good eating though. Back in Florida I would go backpacking cross country in Ocala National Forest for a week at a time and survive on snakes, fresh water fish and berries mostly before heading back home. Loved it!

There so good eating... Heck! All you need is a water source in those hills if lost and that cabin before your bearings brought you back to civilization....:)
