Mill Creek Rd

I just took Mill Creek from The Dalles to highway 35. Nice ride, the road turned into a washed out trail on top. Seen lots of deer in velvet. I'll post some pictures when I get to a computer. Have any of you taken this route?

I took Mill Creek to Upper Mill Creek to Mill Creek Lookout to Mill Creek Ridge. I came out on Pine Mount Dr. It was a great ride but I was wishing for a smaller bike when the going got tough.

Ahh...yes I know the route you speak of, I was attempting to connect those back when I first got my CRF450X, I actually broke my elbow on upper mill creek during one of my "attempts", and have never tried it again....sold the 450, and the CX isn't quite the proper machine to do it. Love that area though....Mill creek Ridge is my son's and my favorite road in the area. Check out Suicide Grade and Hedges Grade sometime (both spur off of Mill Creek)....very cool and challenging.

Give a shout next time yer gonna be around!

I take that same route very regularly from Parkdale to my folks' house on Mill Creek.

They live at the last house on the paved section of Mill Creek Rd (where I grew up).
I just rode that same route this last Monday evening, after a Family gathering there.
It's rough and tough, but keep the gas on, and the bike keeps going.
The beauty and wildlife are always worth the trip.

It's 31 miles from my house to theirs riding that beautiful forested backwoods way,
or 48 miles the other boring way,
Hwy35 to HR, then I-84 to TD, then out Mill Creek Rd.

Suicide Grade is the gnarly road that borders my folks' property, then goes up the hill behind their house.

There used to be a great loop (30 years ago) going up Suicide Grade and then joining back to upper Mill Creek Rd.
It is one of the VERY FEW legal routes that are inside The Dalles Watershed.
The full loop is now closed by gates from the "Arrowhead Ranch" that borders the Watershed.

Suicide Grade is still a great up & back seven mile ride to the gate on top.
The last time I rode up there, about 8 years ago, was on my mountain bicycle, with my Dad.
I'm way overdue for that ride again.

On the road up to Rainy Lake, beautiful day to ride on Sunday.
Glad to see more of us in the Hood. Nice pic from Dead Point Rd.
I know a secret trail just barely off that road, I know you would enjoy.

Welcome, n00b(s), chime in here anytime, please

All 11 of us did it. Keep the gas on.
Ratty2austin on his V, intr1gue and his F800, and my Big Orange Pig did it.
I'll go with you any given morning, it's a short trek before work.
