AJ: FWIW You were probably in the national forest. But if you end up on BLM land there is a complete campfire restriction on all BLM land currently.

I know the fire's probly not allowed,
but FWIW, I carry a shovel, a 10" tree saw, and 6 litres of water.
Squiters stayed away last night.
