Thanks Jeff and Shelly, You guys have my attention for this weekend every year from now on. What a ride Sat. just epic for me really. The suspension has turned me into a maniac. I think the point and shoot model of the DR is the way to go. Just point twist throttle and bang. Barbara I hope you are feeling OK. Sorry your first outing with us maniacs ended in pain. You did great on the bike. And look forward to more riding time with you. Susie I hope you had fun in that water. Like a PRO I say. Everyone else really rode like pros as well. Sure a great group to ride with. Al thanks for the photos, I think you could go pro with your photo taking. Gary and I had a great ride home in the dark and fog. Thanks again Applejam and Mustangshelly You guys rock... ![]()

we were having too much fun to take time for you FFs out there, sorry. You're welcome to come up today, nw scout, we're still at the house being lazy, the ADVers have already taken the long road home. It's a decent, but mixed cloudy day here, today. Quote:
Rocked up it on the Big Pig. The only way up that road is to ROCK up it. Ya can't go slow. The empty two-track on top is on the list of the most epic two-track around. Sorry all, for not preriding Hedges Grade first, up & out of the Mill Creek Valley, that actually turned out to be more difficult than Suicide Grade

I noticed a certain continuity of style with Mat and Suzy's water crossing style.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() She made it across upright as did every one else today. Here she is pushing her limits some more on suicide grade. ![]() ![]() Every time I saw her she had this huge smile on her face ![]()

It was a great Fall day in the Hood.
I got to share the butte above Mill Creek Ridge Rd with some friends ![]() \ Mark, doing some photo artistry: ![]() The last of the group doing the hillclimb to the top of the butte: ![]() Riding up Suicide Grade Rd was a big treat for me ![]() I got a chance to relive some childhood memories of walking along the top of that ridge between the South and North forks of Mill Creek. An old wooden sign about 3-4 miles back along the ridge, documents the location of the old schoolhouse that served the old Upper Mill Creek Community. ![]() It's hard to read now, but the old schoolhouse burned in 1926. It was nice to stop and wonder what life might have been like up there for those hearty souls. All that is left today are some seemingly randomly stacked rocks that made up it's foundation, and some pieces of what might have been the woodstove

Pegged out the fun meter!
Great weather, great people, awesome ride! Even though I am the one running the pooper scooper at the end of the parade, I had a great time. Thank you Matt for the riding tips, as I was able to use them the rest of the day and started to feel way more comfortable. Thank you Loud Al for coming to the rescue when the chips (bikes) were down. Barbara, your bike is nice and dry and cozy in the barn. Hope you are feeling OK. Fishy, sorry about the obnoxious text messages, but in all fairness, John sent you the worst ones. Hope we didn't get you in trouble. I will blame it on the Fireball.
You are all welcome out here any time. I see some great weekend rides coming up next spring/summer.
