Karla

I say bring her! She can meet Donell that way. Donell doesn't have her bike yet, but they can at least get aquaintted. I have no problem gearing the ride to the abilities to who ever is along. And I don't believe in pressuring someone to ride beyond their comfort level. As long as they don't take offence to me playing around a little we are good! I am trying to off the KLR so I don't want to beat it up anyway.

Just ride it in the light, you'll likely make it fine, and it might be all melted by then.

What'd she get to ride?
How much snow? Shit I was on lower lolo sunday and didn't see anything. This could complicate things. I don't want her on the freeway with that little thing.

We got her a xt225 2002. Needs a few things mainly tune and tires. No racks though, which means I carry everything for camping. So they are top O list for next year. Unless of course you are with us. LOL

Saturday roads

OK, I'm working a few angles to gain access to some of the old roads on Haycreek Ranch south of Ashwood that are off limits to the public. I hope they will let us ride through, but they are VERY controlling of the area. I will do my best, but I will respect their decision.

Hopefully Friday will work for some as I have to work Saturday at 1:00. Anyone's still welcome to stay at my place.

Slow Joe: I have 2+ acres in the Rancho's. Less than a mile to the dirt. I've also posted this on benddualsport.com and may be picking up some interest there.

Oh I see

I see the post from 88. Shoot! It doesn't look to bad I think I'll give it a try if Karla can get off early enough. I think if we hit it in the light we can go slow and be alright. John

I grew up in Ranchos. We were one of the first houses out there. My trails covered the rest of it. Chances are I road through your living room before it was there! I live off of Hwy 97N and Cherry Ln. I have to work Friday until 2:30pm so I can't make that. Sunday? Might be able to sneak out for a while.

Jeff your going to drag Karla through the snow on Lolo and you're worried about where I'm going to take you.

Nope, found out she's stuck in seattle for the weekend it's just me. Probably best, I don't want to push her too much. And LOLO didn't look to good from the pics. Sooooooo I'm in for whatever you got. I do need to bend a few things back into place on the DR. She took a good ride sideways along some large boulders. Luckily she dumped me off prior to the big rocks. I ate only the small ones. So kind.

For anyone thinking of coming Friday, go ahead and PM me for details. I completely understand those who don't have Friday off and are wanting to ride Saturday. There won't be too many more days before the upper elevations are covered, so ride while you can.

I can give some GPS tracks if anyone needs those. (editing would probably be required).

Ochoco's: Talked to a coworker who had their Jeep in the Ochoco's this weekend. They said they ran into about 2 inches of snow at the very top. That shouldn't harm the roads I am considering, except possibly the lookout, but that's an easy turn around if it gets problematic.

SlowJoe...we've got to compare trail notes I'd love to get "special access" to Haycreek Ranch. But my experience is that even with "friends in the know" they are pretty closed to allowing access. Too many bad experiences from what I hear. Seems someone was selling the combinations to their gates on the internet. Still, just the roads through the ranch are great. Have you ridden Hay Creek Ranch Rd from Richardson Ranch back to Ashwood Rd. Fun route. The National Grass Lands have weeks worth of riding, canyons, creeks, overlooks, eagles, antelope, elk, deer, rabbits etc. We've got to get together!

Wot? You buying "Kenda" tires now just 'coz they rhyme with "Karla"?

You old softy.

I'll see if I can wrangle Saturday for a ride. I could do with a long one.
