Ooh, how do we get past THAT gate......
Me and a buddy rode our mountain bikes in and fished Blue Lake and the old road was in pretty good shape. But ten years later same friend went back and the road was covered in downed trees. So even if you did get around the gate you wouldn't get far very fast. And if I remember right, it's part of the Bull Run Watershed and strictly off limits. We had heard from some oldtimers that the fish in Blue Lake were awesome. They were........

Wicked Ya want to know about snow!?

Just ask "Crashclay" about snow, she is becoming very tight with it!

I have to say, way less bike repair with snow!

And another thing, don't try to ride Mill Creek from the top! Lot's of the white stuff and if you try to sneak in from the North you find a lot of this!

But we tried and had lots of fun!

I think keeping her away from the snow on her new bike will be the first order of business! She's a great sport about riding when it gets ugly and had lots of fun today. Ended up with 60 miles today.

You'd better get that cleaned up before Spring....

Are those new, big, green seasonal gates on each end of the John's Mill Rd part closed yet?

Hay, we got two out of the way! But this mess is another story, you can ride around the first big one the second one is the problem. It's kind of dug in and goes from side to side, must of had some good wind up there.

The other thing is, the other side of the canyon on that North face is very white, so I'm not sure if you could get to the ridge. We were looking at our time and knew that we did not have the time to mess with it any longer.

Also, road 644 from the power lines over to 1711 has got a little snow on it, maybe with a few nice days it will melt off again. That or it will turn into a big chunk off ice!

644 on the left and 1711 going off to the right.

This is looking West up 1711 from the same point.
