Far as I know Woodstock Tower Rd and Taskers OHV area are usually closed til late spring, depends on snow at that time and how muddy the place is.

DOESN'T LIKE IT DINER REVIEW • JAN 06, 2013 They don't like New Yorkers. At least the waitress we had. She was talking to every table but ours sweet as pie. Our food was cold and she dropped the check on our table 5 minutes into the meal. We felt like we were being pushed out the door and like we were not welcomed. Apparently New Yorkers aren't the only rude ones. Appalling DOESN'T LIKE IT DINER REVIEW • NOV 14, 2011 Our waitress bragged about being the "manager fill-in". However, couldn't fill our order correctly if she tried. (a simple burger-rare, came out overcooked and dry) She even ordered an extra round of drinks for everyone, when only 2 of us requested refills. (it wasn't water or soda either) What topped it was when the african-american couple seated behind us requested straws, she actually threw them on the table with total frustration! Isn't this her job! It was clearly racial, and no restaurant I ever want to be associated with ever again! I know I wouldn't want this manager to represent my restaurant. terrible DINER REVIEW • JUL 03, 2012 When we arrived had to wait about 15 min til a table was cleared off. Only a few people were seated the rest of the tables needed cleaned off. Finally seated,at 8pm, the server took our drink order, came back with drinks, took the food order and it took til 9pm to get our food. When we did get the food the wings were barely warm, my daugher order the chicken and mashed potatoes. Her food came out minus the potatoes. Apparently the ran out of mashed, so instead of telling us right away so she could order fries or something, they waited til the food was on the table. Just told her to take it off the check. Didn't want to chance waiting another 45 min. Will not eat at Uncle Bucks again. 5/16/2011 4 photos As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted with the question, "Smoking or non-smoking?" I thought that cannot be a good sign. Wrong I was! This friendly place has delicious home-style food at very reasonable prices. Our waitress was also very helpful and professional. We tried the Redneck Benedict and the Local Favorite (rainbow trout with eggs) and they were yummy. The coffee was strong and fresh. The biscuit (even though not made on premises) was hot and fluffy. And the Belgian waffle was delicious without a single toping. The decor is interesting. Lots of pictures of horses - very nice!

I had mediocre service at Uncle Bucks one time myself. As I remember, the food was just, "ok". But RTE events aren't always about the "fine dining". If the place is too nice they wont want us anyway!

You'll get good and bad reviews from every restaurant now days. Some one has a good time they write a great review. Someone gets mediocre service or was, in their mind, slighted, they'll write a bad review. The place is too popular to be a bad place.
I had a meal there last month and it was good. The Ritz Carlton it ain't but I researched a few sites and the majority of the reviews were favorable. Here are some other reviews... http://www.bundle.com/merchant/detai...ay-va-1057307/ http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguid...mily_rstrnts-i http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran..._Virginia.html http://www.yelp.com/biz/uncle-bucks-luray This link seems to have the bad reviews Eric posted along with quite a few good ones. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/314/1304...staurant-Luray Out of all those reviews in all those links, most look favorable to me. What about you? A lot were for their breakfast menu. Some were for lunch. As for the one regarding Crab cakes...what in hell do you expect ordering seafood in Luray Virginia! ![]() There's no way to tell exactly how the service or food is going to be on any particular day until you go there. If I were to go by a few bad reviews I wouldn't have this thread going at all.

I always make plans based on the lowest common denominator.
![]() BTW, weren't you the one who asked when the next RTE was going to be?
