Ha...it's the ADV salute finger and index finger where they join my palm....a little creative taping and a doubling up on the Aleve should suffice.

I have a throttle rocker and the GL's rear brake is linked to the front so I should be good to go....it's only an hour ride..

LOL I was feeding last night and had horizontal rain .. I got soaked !!!

I did hear from HB , they got caught in the rain as well, just before they got to Marlinton...

Dang he said they have 8 bikes with them now and more on the way...

So I made a dumb choice to attend the BMWbmw tech day today instead of meeting you all. I rode an hour there and their was no one there.

I guess I should have chose this instead.

And, yes, it was windy as hell out there. Riding west to east was fine. Heading back west was brutal.

Of course HBN had to get the feel of a Gold Wing....and determined it was not as flickable as a Ruckus

Windy as all get-out today. Saw one fire burning NW of Fodderstack Road--not a good day to be a firefighter.

But a great day to meet, greet, and eat.

The duty line-em-up and pose shot.

You can see from these photos and the ones above--we kinda took over the tavern's parking lot. Turns out they had a power outage for most of the morning. We had to hang around the parking lot and shoot the breeze for a half hour or so. It was tough work but someone had to do it . . .. .

Lots of candid shots during lunch. Didn't get everyone--sorry!

Because the tavern had just gotten power back, the menu was a tad limited--not that it slowed anyone down.

And I only got icewater!!!

I've got to say that was a great time! Only regret was not having the time to BS with everyone. Met some new inmates and reacquainted with old ones! Kudos to everyone for making the trip in this brutal wind!
I think Badguy had the longest route to the shindig. You'll have to go to the SMIB thread to see his route.

I gave him some directions to some OK gravel on his way back. Hope you liked the roads.

Va tag went to HBN, now how did that happen? P.S. Don't tell Retro or Freak.

NWVA tag went to Muffinmonster, Move that duck west gal!

NOVA tag went to vatrader01, sorry guy, sometimes I feel like a tag pusher man feeding an addict! Where DID you put those tagatrol patches...

Seems BeastRider and ORexpat have better pics than I do with more on the way I'm sure but I will post a picture of the NOVA & NWVA tag winners.

The fire, that I thought was on top of Skyline drive is actually down in Browntown on the west side of the mountain. Old Man River, allonsye and I took a circuitous route through Little Washington, Sperryville,over the mountain then up some back roads all the way to the West of Front Royal. We saw smoke from another fire West of Luray and a buddy just E-mailed me and said there was a fire in Amissville too!

Most of the SMIBs should be home by now.....Let see what kind of mile Bad Guy put on today. Erik is down in St Mary's city so I'm curious on your miles also.
