ZTechnik’s Engine Guards

Does anyone have any reviews of the ZTechnik’s stainless steel Engine Guards? Will they take a hit? I like the low profile look.

They look nice.
I think it is possible to smash anything.
They say maintenance can be done without removing them.
Accessory bracket!

Here is ZTechnik's PDF on them

I have the bars on my bike but haven't "tested" them yet. The fit is good. Only takes about 15 min. to install them. They have three mounting points. The top and bottom ones are very sturdy. The middle one screws into the cylinder. I suspect this middle fastener would shear off in a fall.

I wonder how these compare to the Hepco Becker crash bars?

No high speed crashtest yet thankfully (couple close calls). But they've done their the job nicely on a couple tip-overs, even a semi free fall (center stand sunk thru asphalt on a hot day, dented the header but not a mark on the guards or heads)

I think a parking lot is the only place these would do anything...they don't actually cover anything you wouldn't want to hit???

The bar is 1 inch wide..you drop your bike on a rocky road..you better aim real good!!

Dandy light mount though..seems that is the primary function..
