I saw that but there was such a drastic difference between what you listed and what the previous poster listed I thought it was a typo maybe.

I didn't use manufacturer figures, I weighed them myself on digital scales. 60 grammes isn't much more than the weight of an ordinary letter, and the Rizoma items are more lightweight bar end finishers than weights.

By the way, those Rizoma items would need the bars modifying to install, as they're deigned to slide into a plain bar end, and the 800R's is welded and threaded.

Wow, thanks for the detailed explanation of all that. I'll probably go to my BMW dealership directly and get them to put the ST bar ends on.

The ST bar ends aren't a straight fit on the R, hence I needed the custom adapters making up by a friend at a machine shop.

I went with the black/silver milled Throttlemeisters. Put the Throttlemeister on my GS years ago instead of a Kaoko and have been very happy with them.

http://throttlemeister.com/

The heavy bar ends are a lttle longer than those shown in the pics. I had the weight somewhere but I don't know where I put that, probably threw it away after I installed them. No mods required, just put them on and they installed quite easily. You get the extra weight, plus a throttle lock. Made in the USA.

They are compatible with the Wunderlich handguards if you go that route. Whatever bar ends you use, be sure to think through compatibility if you plan to add handguards.

Sargent seat went on today, so far so good, only rode 13 miles though. No more vibrating junk at 5K RPM anymore!

Cool. What's next? Did you lower the helmet yet?

So what about the risers? Did you get the Rox risers mounted and new brake lines? I really like Rox risers but couldn't adapt the brake lines here.

What bar ends did you go with?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Didnt do the bar ends. The risers go on Saturday when it goes for the run in check.

I am hoping to get by without lowering the helmet, too expensive, and my helmet guy is out of town.

Just filled up at 175 miles, took 3.521 gallons, 49.7 MPG. There were still 2 bars on the gauge and I rode 12 miles with the light on. Not too bad.

I just got mine back from the dealer with the 600 mile check up.

It's party time - I can rev it now past 5K and I'm loving it!!!

Thinking about swapping out the 3 faux tank plastic parts along with my front fender.

Mine goes in tomorrow for the run in check.

What would you replace the plastics with?

Different color scheme

It's the "red, white & blue" trim and I'd prefer something different.

Not pink but something different.

2012 Anchorage Bike Show

The bike took 1st place in the Sport Touring class today. Wow, I didn't even think it would get noticed!
