Oh, and on the "Safari" print, try Goof-Off. Goof-Off will remove paint, but it does it very slowly. So, you probably could tape off the area around the print and slowly rub it with a product like Goof-Off to slowly remove it.

Got some time to hit the garage today and go after those stickers.
So the rear reflective striped sticker had me worried. When I tried to peal it off it "chipped off" more like paint than a sticker. Here you can see the corners chipped away as I started after it with the hair dryer ![]() So I talked with an engineer friend who said "Xylene! that's your ticket"... and he hooked me up with a bottle of Xylene and a syringe ![]() ![]() 30 seconds later... ![]() et Voila! ![]() Honestly.. I think the hair dryer had a bigger impact than the Xylene but the Xylene is definitely bad ass at getting rid of any glue that remained. It dissolves it

The "Safari sticker" is a different story.
I still haven't figured out how exactly this decal is done. after closer examination I suspect it might be a sticker that is clear coated on? I tried a couple of angles with the camera to show the surface seam ![]()

Whatever it is.. I don't think it is going to peal off.
Now that I'm armed with Xylene I figured I'd go ahead and stick one of the reflective stripes on the tanks and cover it... and if I don't like it I can remove it afterward. I decided to try the 2" 3M "black reflective". Stripe without flash ![]() Stripe with flash ![]() ...tank without shield. I really need to find a carbon fiber shield replacement ![]()

Reflective stripe out in the sun.
![]() ... a few different angles. The sticker is constantly changing intensity ![]() not sure if I like it or not... ![]() It is apparent an iphone camera has no idea how to handle carbon fiber

Why not hit those tank protectors with some truck-bed liner in a can to cover those stickers and be done? I used it on my PVC tool tube and it's holding up great (2 yrs), and even if I needed to reapply it's no biggie to whip out the can and go.

Hi Tom,
It is a carbon swingarm protector I got from the Czech Republic. My TE's swingarm has taken a thrashing in the rocks so I wanted to give the 950s some protection... ![]() ...and if you consider the impacts they've already taken - it has been money well spent! ![]() re: body work I've squirreled away all the stock body work. On the off chance I decide to grab a 990R some day.. I'll be transferring all this body work to it so I'd need the stock stuff to put back on. That said... I fancy putting 100,000+ miles on this thing so I've no desire to change.
