Short windscreen/fly screen for r1200gs

Anyone have experience with shorter windscreens/flyscreens for the R1200GS? I need something for the warm weather that will allow some air flow. I've mainly been looking at the flojet from wunderlich or the tour-a-tech sports screen, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there. I'm also open to other short screen options. Thanks.

Machine Art Moto slipscreen is another option, for me it's too noisy at
anything above 40 mph or so.

I will be picking up one of these come summer. I think it will be perfect for all the backroad riding that I do.

"Windscreen" for 1200 GSA

Good day,

Anybody knows where I can find a "windscreen" similar to the below one for the R1200GSA 2008 year model? I.e. the part above the lights only.

Will keep the original lights, just want to replace the original high 2008 GSA windshield. Does not have to be transparent.

It doesn't have to be higher than to just cover the Garmin GPS fitted with the Touratech holder to the original GSA (additional) windshield support bracket.

Preferably plug-n-play (same fitting points as original GSA windshield).

Thanks for any help.

Last summer when I crashed my GS and destroyed my Parabellum windshield I bought a "Fly" screen an inmate had made from a stock shield. I (or well, actually my riding buddy/pooch, Tyler) didn't care for it so I took it off and went with something else.

To the OP in this thread, if you'd like to buy it ($50 shipped) just to see if you'd like a fly screen before buying a more expensive one, let me know.

I can post up some pics if you're interested.

+1 for the slip screen from machineartmoto. I run mine all summer. It is a different bike with the small screen...more like a big dirtbike than the big boat it is.

+1 for Machineartmoto. Bought mine last summer and it was great when it was hot. A little breezy at 75 - 80 mph on the highway. But you get used to it.

Have not seen a Rallymoto type screen for the GS/GSA,but one may be out there somewhere.

Cut down Puig Screen

Bike feels much different (lighter), since I'm 6'6" tall my helmet is in clean air, I rode much faster than I otherwise would with my larger screen,
it much more feels like a fun-bike.
No turbulence (helmet doesn't bounce around at all) up to tested 120km/h speed but lot's of wind pressure.
I'm going too fast with this...I like this but still I'll mount the larger ZTechnik screen again, if I were 20 years younger...

Not finished yet, I cut down my GS screen. Whacked 6" off the top. That let me lay the windscreen back down to its lowest position. 100% clean air on the helmut. Nice. It will be much better for running in the desert heat. A bottle of water sprayed onto/into the jacket and 60 mph of air conditioning and life will be good. For winter I'll put my other GS screen back on.

I'll post pictures after I get the height set right and I finish the cuts and polishing the top of the windscreen.

I also cut my stocker down to just cover the cluster. Spray painted the inside black so it looks nice. It works great in the summer here in GA. Especially like using it for dual-sporting. Have the Cee Bailey barn door for the rest of the year. Since I hated the stock screen, this was a zero-dollar no-brainer
