Bluhduh Death of a friend

TWO in Suches GA was my second home. Nice Clean and always good friends around. I looked forward to going there several times a year with good company. GT was always a great host. When I heard of TWO closing I felt like a close friend had died. I will always cherish the memories that were made there. Here are just a couple

Sal Calcagno, Ron (Heldge) O'Connor. Glen ( the king ) Romero, and I Big John along with others will miss the place so so bad. They can close TWO, but they cant take our memories. R.I.P my friend

Yes, like the death of a friend, the death of TWO leaves a hole in our souls. Anyone that visited that place was touched by it. Wow, what good memories that place and friends created. My favorite place to camp was by the stream behind the lodge. Many a night and /5 rally there, only now to realize no more. Very sad.

The picture below was taken the last time I was there. Kind of sad to see an empty camp ground....a prediction of things to come? Ghosts and memories....so sad.

I'm very sad TWO is gone, but not so much the Red Death

I'm just happy to have some great memories from there

My love affair with TWO came from my relationship with my Buell's. I was introduced to TWO through the March Badness events that were put on by some of the best Buellers I have ever met. I have spent the last 4 years riding up to Suches for the Buell events.

I have met some amazing people at TWO, I have dinned with Brit and GT. I have sat around the camp fire with Dave Despain of Speed TV fame, I had the pleasure of sharing some of the best home made fire water I have ever come across. I have repaired bikes in the wood shed and fished fellow riders out of the creeks after a hard night of campfire racing...

I have been flooded out of my tent as well as frozen to the bone all the while with the biggest permagrin I have ever experienced.

T.W.O - you will be missed...

I went back out to the T.W.O location this past weekend to look around. They now have Private Property signs all over the land. As I was taking pictures of the place, I had two fellows holler at me from across the road telling me not to go on the property. The whole vibe of the place is just unfriendly to say the least...

I just learned about the closure yesterday. Anyone want to buy a 97 ZX-11? I have no reason to ride any more :(

My favorite photo, and desktop wallpaper on my laptop. The place looks naked in later photos without the big tree by the deck,

Also, the squid sign. shot the weekend it was made.

Larger version here, if anyone wants to make a T-shirt or something.: http://webpages.charter.net/dwarner2/BigSquid.JPG

Although no longer in business, the building is still there. Here's a view form the Suches gas station, which has recently been bought by new, motorcycle friendly owners.

And a picture labor day weekend. It just didn't seem right not having a parking lot full of bikes and riders.

After 15 years of trips to TWO, I stayed at the High Valley Cabins about a half mile up 180 from there back in August. Yep, sad as hell to see how the old place looks now, with the 'for sale' sign out front. I love the roads in that area, but it might not be worth the trip over from North Carolina anymore now that TWO is gone.

I have never been, from the pic's posted it look like it was a place where memories were made. Those who have posted here seem richer for the experience of having had attended... Just looking at the before and after pictures it is clear the life is gone, it's the end of an era, only the memories of those fortunate enough to frequent this motorcycle haven remain...

For you old time TWO regulars, I ran into Jeannie Cheek at the Suches gas station recently. She is still living in Suches and is doing well.
