Got a flat in the snow

Went for a ride on some forest service roads near North Bend, Some of the worst conditions I have ever ridden in. It was alternating between snowing hard and rain. there was 2" to 18" of snow on the ground depending on trees and exposure. It was fresh snow, on slush, on ice, talk about slick. I didn't need to chain up but had to use 2wd much more than usual, and that was with a studded Kenda 335 on the pusher.
If I didn't have 2wd and reverse it would have been ugly, It is so sweet to be able to backup and re attack a difficult spot. No digging or winching today.

Several miles up a favorite road, I had to pass an approaching Jeep pulling a sled. I went off the trail in deep fresh snow kicking up a twin rooster-tail with the jeep folks cheering Me on. Glad I didn't get stuck.
Got back in the tire tracks and noticed the rig was handling odd, looked back and saw the pusher was flat.

Found a turnout off the road where the snow was packed down and proceeded to change the flat. Couldn't use the center stand but I carry a small bottle jack, placed it on my shovel so it wouldn't sink in the snow. Start to finish was about 20 minutes but was delayed a few tines talking to snowshoers and x country skiers. I'm so glad Urals Have spare tires, repairing a tire in those conditions would have sucked big time.

By the time I my fill of riding, it was raining hard. Sure was glad I didn't have a long ride home. Even considering the conditions and the flat, I had a blast.

Wonder what the skiers said. Whenever I get stuck in my car the locals immediately think im some sort of tourist.
