"Ekranoplan" A Russian "Low flying boat" troop carrier

A few years back i saw a documentary about this "Thing" on the history channel and since then i keep in my mind how surreal it was.

It was call a Ekranoplan and here is one Link for it and Another one

Even some video

Is actually not a plane but a "Air cushion vehicle" that skims the water just a few feet from it.

Man, that thing is interesting. It's impressive/frightening to think what odd Russian technology was developed during the secrecy of the cold war.

Oh Yeah that is a great idea, this Thing will be unstoppable, well at least when "Landing", I don't know when starting up again since it looks like it takes a lot of "Runway" to get it going.

Maybe what they need is a "Flat Top Aircraft carrier" so you can deploy helicopters, Harrier type jets and other "Stol" type planes, plus some AVON Boats for a really fast attach force.
