Zündapp DB 200 ![]() K 500 When we were kids back in the 70s, we were allowed to ride small mopeds limited to 15mph, so those Zündapp were the most wanted ![]() because it was possible to fit the 6hp-cylinder of that one ![]() and with changed carb, exhaust and gearing it ran up to 60mph ...luckily never had trouble with law enforcement... greets beys beys screwed with this post 03-04-2011 at 11:18 PM |

I had a Rickman 125 with the Zundapp 2 stroke single. When I got it it wouldn't run. I sorted that out and it ran strong but, You picked a gear and stayed in it because it would not shift.
There was a locater peg that had been busted out of the cases that was supposed to prevent the shifting ratchet from rotating.I tried J.B. weld and it lasted for about two shifts. The thing is when you had it in first it would pull the front wheel just rolling the throttle. I sold it and got my money back but now wish I still had it.

That transmition can't be too bad. There's been a Zundapp with a Corvair engine in it running around Mpls for years.

Corvair Powered Zundapp
The Corvair powered Zundapp in Minneapolis is mine. It was built in the mid sixties by my father. I can't say how good the Zundapp gearbox is because mine uses the corvair torque converter connected to a single speed gearbox.
Here are some pictures others have taken of my bike. http://twofastdogs.smugmug.com/Motor...55030922_7V3D2 http://westbankmc.com/photoalbums/20.../img_2206.html |

![]() For corzapp. Seems to bmwahacker something like this means you can't go wrong. If something can't be done with the Zapp motor or trans , just slip in a Corvair and torque converter.

If I won the lottery and had the dosh the first bike id buy is an original (or close to) Wermacht issue Zundapp KS750 hack. Way over engineered for a bike of the era but sweet. Tank enveloped by huge frame, 2wd, 4 spd road gearbox and low 4 spd "gelande" gear box..
It's engine is a slight Vee (not flat). Lots of $$ for a good example. I believe the KS 601 was the go to bike for early Elefantreffen runs. GO FOR IT! Hmmm, post 1000
