Third day took us from Lamas de Mouro to Terras de Bouro. Tough day, rainy, tracks made in the morning in the edge of Peneda-Geres National Park were long, stony, closed to an enduro track, without maintenance for years, lots of erosion made by rain, including a steepy ditch 2 meters deep (some photos should be available, not mines, must check if I had the video camera on...)

But... I would prefer to repeat all these tracks instead of a short track near Soajo village where the conjunction of a big and too tall bike with panniers, big slippery stones, too narrow, all together... and the result was... a dive down this bridge

Could be worst, no injury at all, only a broken helmet (the sun cover) and Hero helmet support. And minor bike damages.

Ahead...

Next photo, Hermínio in one of the tricky uphills... Him, Paulo Rodrigues and later Ramiro impressed me with their ability to drive the Africa Twin in the trials, really impressed me, those guys are even better riding than drinking

Drog & Warma, with Timpo, Hermínio and Paulo Rodrigues, a great help pushing the LC8 over the big stones! Thank you so much, friends!

In the afternoon, the same history...

End of the afternoon and people recommend me to go by road, I should look finished... But, stubborn, I insisted to continue avoiding, when possible, the track log red flags pointing the really difficult spots.

End of day, camping aside Homem river. The village was just in the other side of the river, me, Timpo, Franc and Herminio decided to have a proper dinner, walking cause there was no bridge nearby and crossing the river by bike would be not easy (next morning I had the confirmation...) less than 2 kms seemed to me... one hundred

Forth day, Terras de Bouro to Tourém.

Bad start, a bath with the LC8 crossing the river...

Exhausters full of water, a bad electrical connection that didn't allow the start engine to run, and the doubt if the bike had water in the cylinders... It hadn't, we were able to rotate manually the bike engine. So, battery cables (thanks Luis Deus!) and the bike is running again

Delayed, needing a good breakfast to recover, Herminio joined me (thanks!) following the track again avoiding track log red flags

With a good pace with only two bike running, we caught the main caravan. Time to appreciate the beautiful landscapes:

with the right to a fall or two, always when stopping ;D

And also time for lunch a tasteful regional fried codfish...

Back to the track, we met Xavier, from Galicia, he's trying to find the main caravan but followed us.

Middle of the afternoon and we gave up to follow the track since we´ve a meeting with our friend Joao Rodrigues, waiting for us at Pitoes das Junias, after a two days try to repair a Super Enduro radiator... Joao, a master in mechanics, at our arrival had another thing to solve, a completly destroyed luggage support in Xavier's BMW XChallenge.

Camp site aside the Tourém lake, meeting all AdvRiders, Nomads portuguese group stayed at Pitôes das Júnias, it seems the part we made by road avoid us many tricky trials that delayed them...

The evening was a must. Fantastic meat, many wine, true popular music, all of us really enjoyed this evening ;)

Fifth day, Tourém to Chaves.

Breakfast in the inn where Advriders slept (those who didn't camp), and a liquor to begin the day at the same place where we had party last night

And something to fix

Faces after liquor...

Pretty bike... even a little disassembled...

Awesome trails:

Nota a impossible uphill, but not conquered... (anyway, wasn't the right way to go...)

And, passing by Vilar de Perdizes, a meeting with priest Fontes, very popular for organizing the Popular Medicine Congress, or... most known as the Witches Convention ;D

Where Minho river finds the sea.

Eating a regional dish at Caminha... Can't translate it...

Quim wrote about me: 'With a mammoth and panniers?... I'm done!' He was right

Nomads way of helping eachother

Resting while a puncture is fixed.

Boivão Natural Castle!

Hard track!

Waiting to remove trees in the trail.

Bottleneck. Troubles ahead...

Old narrow streets.

Nice little rivers.

Old bridges. Below, a very nice natural swimming-pool!

The northestern point of Portugal!

Nomads men .

Old cobblestone streets.

Good mood always!

A three wheel quad.

That's the way!

Spanish border.

Camping in paradise!

More pics here

Unfortunelly I have only pics until Chaves due to a mechanical problem in the quad. But I will take more when doing the tracks I couldn't do now.

Thanks Quim for all your great work!!!

Hi guys,

It was a pleasure to share with all of you this magnificent adventure. A special hug to Luis for the initiative ...
Here are some of the moments I was able to “catch”:

The first “steps”…

A great spot to spend the night... (thanks Lino )

Recovering forces...

...for this.:

Another pause...

I imagine that most of the guys have passed through here at high speed, but with the AT's we have to choose the right path ...

Thanks guys for always been there when needed…

Another Great spot for the camp...

The tricky passage that choked the big blue…

Fantastic landscapes...

It does not appear, but this uphill was respectable....but it was the wrong way ! ;D

“Trás-os-Montes” – “Behind the Hills... is the meaning of the name of this Portuguese province…

Our last night with the NOMADS group , before we went to the Douro Valley…
to continue with the program of the ADV Meeting…

Starting the last track at “Vila Pouca de Aguiar”…

Another f*+#=/&% uphill…(where is Paulo ?)

The "tour" included a visit to the petroglyphs of the Coa Valley ...
(thanks to Jaime from IGESPAR for getting the permission and build the program).

And the end of the day at “Quinta da Ervamoira”, one of the most beautiful Vineyards in the region.

In “Penedono”, preparing for the home return.

See you next year…or sooner

Sixth day, Chaves to Vinhais.

Peaceful day, with the four mammoths, my LC8 and the three AT. Begin refueling in Spain.

After a tricky uphill, Ramiro went back and up again bringing 3 or 4 bothles from his parents house, not fra away from there.

One more technical stop. Paulo doesn't like this picture, football teams questions

Also some tracks, a few...

And among them some not very easy...

Until we reached the end of the tracks, a place with a mineral water, tasteful but... not very clean

The end of day, the AT guys went to meet the Nomads caravan, I met Joao Rodrigues , Franc and Alex at a nice place to camp and bath near Vinhais.
