It is a reading point wire for accurate reading which most of the voltmeter does not have and sometimes the jump from one number to the next is too fast to be seen if you are on those which are running on 2 wires which connect to your battery and ground.
I will say a good precision intervals of 0.1v and a good refreshing rate ratio Quote:
