Finally got my kewl Jackpiner rack installed!
I had to make a minor modification since I have the Wolfman side racks on my DRZ. No big deal, but I had to violate Tom's good work just a bit to make it fit the way I wanted it to. Sure looks good installed! Very nice rack Tom.

I just got some racks back from the powdercoater and have 9 of these left. They all have the RotopaX option and bungee loops.
It's 14" X 14" and will hold a RotopaX fuel pack and a large tailbag, drybag, etc. The TAT Rack by jackpiner57 ----------------------------- Here are the features: * Guaranteed to fit your DR-Z400S or SM * Easy bolt on installation * Guaranteed against breakage * Large 14" X 14" platform * Weighs only 4.3 lbs * Steel Tube Construction * Satin Black Powder Coat Finish * Sits flush with top of seat so the rack won't hit you in the lower back if you slide off the back * Makes a good handle for pulling the bike out of the mud. * All hardware is included. * RotopaX mounting plate option is available for attaching a fuel cell to the rack. Nuts are welded to the backside of the plate for easy installation and removal of mount without having to remove the rack. Price is $114.00 + 14.00 shipping to anywhere in the US

If you are interested in making any up to fit the DRZ400E, I will have a bike within a few weeks. I am about 45 minutes north, if you need a test mule. I'd be perfectly willing to let you use the bike as test bed and pay your very reasonable fee.
I also have an '07 KLR650 that would look very nice with one of those. . .

That sounds great! If both of your bikes are in stock configuration in the rear, then I can make the racks for you for FREE. If your bikes are not stock in the rear, I can still make you some racks. I'll send you a PM Later with my phone numbers so we can talk. Thanks, Tom

The manufacture of a rack for the E model would be a huge deal. I'm sure there would be a ton of E owners (myself included) that would be interested.
Good to hear this is happening and please keep us all updated! |

Just a plug to say this is a great deal for a great rack. It is well designed, well made, and it has just the right features. I'm loving mine...

I have both the DRZE and the KLR650 ready to trailer down your way -- please tell me when you'd like 'em, and in which order. Tim

Tim, I have two railing/gate projects I'm doing right now, and I should be done with those in about two weeks. Then I have a DR650 to make a rack and side racks for. As soon as I'm done with those, I can do yours. Will that work OK for you? - Tom
