Key point on that ad is missing: Mileage.

As a Ural owner, I can tell you that mileage is a must. This is not a UJM. You don't want a low mileage used Ural. You want something will at least 10,000km on the odo. The engine really isn't broken in until somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 kilometers. Until that point, they can be a bit buggy. A lot of guys get them, don't do the maintenance, and let them sit when they don't run right. So a low KM Ural that is several years old is always a bad sign....or a good deal if you are willing to clean carbs and do valve and timing adjustments. Sometimes that is all it takes.

Stolen bike alert!!

Hey guys I was informed that a fellow member (drgnslayr72) had his bike stolen from behind a house in western Hoke county NC. (He is unable to ride anymore due to medical reasons so it was being ridden by a friend)

It is a 1998 Yamaha YZF600R

Here are the last pics he had of it. Only change is it has a CBR LED taillight now.

Keep an eye out for it please and PM him or Me if you see it.

Thanks

Ray

Yep. If I could only own one motorcycle, it would be my Ural, hands down. They are wicked fun. But, part of the fun is that they make you slow down and see things you never normally would have seen. They make you take different routes than normal too. It is all part of the fun.

However, sometimes you still want to just eat up some miles. That's why I got the Husky to go alongside the hacks.

Keep the Versys, and still buy the Ural.

Edit: Or trade your Versys to Truck6Driver for his VMax, and still get the Ural.

1997 Kawasaki kdx200 FRESH TOP END - $1000 (Summerville)

I have a 1997 Kawasaki kdx200 with a brand new top end with new gaskets and all. I haven't even put an hour on it since the rebuild and it runs great. Tires are good on it and have lots of tread, chain is good, brakes are good, headlights are good, everything on this bike is good and has been maintained and well taken care of. I need this bike gone this week. cash is always king but I am open to trades if I like it.

It has a graphics kit on it along with the new matching seat so it was a expensive graphics kit on the bike.

It has fmf silencer along with fmf fatty pipe weisco piston and rings.

Pretty Beemer, ugly hack for $3200. At this price though, I'd snag it and trade the hack body for something different. Or, these hacks make a great platform for a double-dog hack. Drop the windshield and cut the back, and you've got something that will easily haul two big dogs.

Or convert the Hack into a pop up/fold out style camper.
