‎(1200klm down 4 flat nx 650 front tire and one back bmw blown tire all with no compressor . one very tired boy . but we are Having a ball.)

I dont think they will be there by Saturday..

Hi - i am brand new to Adventure Rider, and tomorrow (hopefully) pick up my first road bike (well sort of) - 2012 KTM 990 Adventure R. I have tried looking through the pages of this thread, but can't seem to figure out exactly when the OCR is (i don't have much time). I don't know anyone with an Adventure bike, so would have been a good opportunity for me. I did pretty much the same trip as the OCR in 07 on my Honda CRF 250x - from the Daintree. after 1000kms in 3 days it needed a re-build
anyway - is it this weekend?? is it worth me taking a trip up there early next week (MOnday) and seeing who I run into?

Update from Coen,

Unfortunatly another one maybe 2 have bit the dust

Gaz AKA the Fireman, got spat off in a bulldust hole, north of Coen, bike OK, Gaz not so, local nurse checked him out, no obvious broken bones, but he is off to Cairns. This is his 3rd go at attending an OCR, all have ended up pear shape!

Another ridr was helicoptered out yesterday, don't know if he/she was heading to Bramwell.

A few bikes staying here at the SEXCHANGE hotel, apperently a swag of bikes have passed through here, yesterday and today

Well as far as I understand, Mr Jingellic, Davorallyfan and Rob are in Laura tonight. Had a few hiccips in Cairns with some bike issues but all sorted now. They contacted me from Lakeland this afternoon. Had already run into quite a few inmates. Sounds like Slow Bike has some oil/sump problems that might be a big issue. Sorry to hear that if that is the case.

thanks - I've checked out the front page - heaps of info :)

so it's this weekend. i would be able to get away until the weekend. So maybe I'll just take a leisurely ride up Daintree, etc myself and use it as a 'shake-down' ride. maybe run into some people

Nup, you'd never make it. You'd be better off loading up and aiming at the Dargo Rally. Much nicer down South anyway, no dust. Might be a small bit of snow and mebbe some mud, but a better option I reckon.
