Vander, I'd like to thank you for that ride report.
It was like the food you described: simple, pure, wonderful. Excellent photos. How do you think a fellow who doesn't speak spanish would make out?

Oy! Great trip report, Vander
A friend and me have been talking about riding from Denmark to Spain on our next long trip and your report didn't exactly turn out the fire of my wanderlust. Thanks so much for showing the beauty of Spain and Portugal. I read "Sinuhe, the Egyptian" a long time ago and loved it and now have to find the other one you recommended. I'll give you a shout if I'm coming your way |

Thank you all for the interest!
In Sintra I saw a polish Transalp with a couple on it. They were strugling to find the way aout of the town, as I did. Difficult with all the one-way roads. Quote:

Wonderful report, thank you very much.
My wife and I took a bus tour in Nov 2009 through some of the places you visited. I spent most of the trip fantasizing that I was on my motorcycle instead of on the bus. The area around Sintra was one of my favorites. We also visited San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen. Both amazing places from different times in history. Thanks again for stirring up some wonderful memories. Wayne

This was wonderful - thanks.
![]() My wife and I visited many of those places in our VW van many years ago. For several of your shots I leaned over to show her views we too had taken in and places we had stood. Then a few years ago I did Spain and Portugal by motorcycle - from Madrid, west to the coast, south past Lisboa, east to Almunecar, north to Ciudad Real, Cuena, and back to Madrid. I loved remembering that trip through your pictures and decriptions. A lovely area worth re-visiting. thanks, -ceej
