What a great solo trip report. Amazing pics and wonderful description!

Being portuguese and living in the Lisbon area, reading you're report made me quite proud about the place I'm from.

Next time, be sure to visit the Northern region of our country, and include in you're itinerary places like the Douro Internacional area, Trás-os-montes, Minho, Peneda-Gerês Park. You'll be even more amazed about the beauty of this country...

Gracias amigo!

Nice report & pics. Thanks for putting it on the net. I'm heading to North Portugal in July.

Superb report Vander, I enjoyed it ...... brought back memories of a similar trip I did from Santander in 1998 on my Transalp... I rode on some of the same roads.....

Muchas Gracias amigo....

Great report. It brought back many memories....I was stationed at Berlin in 1976,77, and into 78. One of the last trips I made was to train and backpack along the coast of Spain and Portugal. Spent a night or two in Lisboa before heading to Pamplona, had to leave when riots broke out but thats a whole story in itself. I hope to return and do it on a bike some day, thanks again for the great thread.
