Here is my friend test riding Misfit today - he was grinning ear to ear when he came back. And this guy is a speed demon always demanding more HP.

I've been interested in the Missfit since I first saw photos maybe a year ago. Like to hear more owners comments.

Some photos from today's ride

Rode about 150 miles today on the Misfit. Total mileage is now 260. From Santa Monica I rode to Rockstore via PCH, Topanga Cyn. Rd., and Mulholland, then to Long Beach via PCH and back the same way. Caught some rain on the way back. The bike ran fine the entire way. Here are some observations.

  • The seat is extremely hard, but it actually feels better than Ninja 250 seat which is the exact opposite.
  • At 75mph indicated, the actual speed is 56mph.
  • When going downhill I accelerated to 100mph indicated and the bike behaved the same as @75mph - steady, no wobbles
  • Out of all types of pavement (haven't tried dirt, though), the bike feels most unsteady on concrete w/ rain grooves.
Here are some photos and I'll report tomorrow on any loose fasteners, chain stretch, etc. after the long ride.

Cleveland Cyclewerks has captured a great classic 1960s roadster look here. The shape of the tank reminds me of an old Moto Guzzi or Ducati. That speedo is the least accurate I've ever heard of on a motorcycle. The norm is about 5% off. I like the low bars, black exhaust, kick starter (!) in addition to electric start.

Thanks for the comments, and keep them coming if you would.

Great write up and pictures. Bummed to hear that the speedo is that far off. I have two of the Misfits and a Heist in my shop for sale. But its winter in Wisconsin. We have temps around 40 but its a wet, icy, sloppy mess. I'm anxious to get one of the Misfits out for a ride.

I tested my speedo yesterday, 70mph indicated is 63 per my GPS - seems about average, my Ducati is off by the same amount.

I know what you mean about weather, it's nasty up here too Going for a ride to test 102.5 jet:

nice look.....summer 2011
[/QUOTE]

That is the look they should have kept to. The tank shape now is like a camels arse, those street tracker looks were sublime. The chopper is a joke.

Most chinese bikes we have over here are scooters or 125 Honda CG125 clones and are all bloody awful, so to break into our market the quality control will have to improve 1000%

How about some important details, like vibration levels, top speed, trans shifting and clutch feel.

I like the looks of this bike, but don't trust the upside down forks with the little axle mount after reading about the bmw's that have the front wheels bust off.

I wouold like it as a dual sport, put some knobbies on, but maybe not with those forks.

Keep in mind that this picture is just a prototype, for all I know production bike may use the same forks as the Misfit.

I'm working on more detailed report on my Misfit experience, stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out Hell For Leather article on the same bike: http://hellforleathermagazine.com/20...rn-motorcycle/

Ugh, this is a very nice looking bike in general, but that paint scheme and the dorky lighting / instrument cluster have got to go. What is that, a 4" diameter headlight? It needs a 7" headlight and a tach in the worst way.

The paint looks shooped - clearly they're still working to figure it out.

Why would you name a Chinese bike after an American city?
