bikes in Baja

I took way to many pics of my bike on last months trip, but oddly the "church" shots didn't have my bike in them. Shot was on a highly recommended road up to Sierra De San Pedro Martir, from Gustavo D az Ordaz.Name: 006.jpg

Now that is something you don't see every day.

Stumbled upon this wooden (rare in Sweden) church when I was on a ride last summer. It was built in 1733 and it is supposed to be mostly untouched (though repainted in the beginning of the 1800)since then.

The cemetary

Later last autumn I stopped to check out this church ruin. Built sometime in the 11th century. The last known service was held there in 1817.

A better view of the ruins.

Awesome photograph! Bike's not bad either The whole photograph is wonderfully composed!

Is this a place of worship...? It occurs to me I don't see any crosses, stars, or the like, evident... Where and which...?

Old grave markers at the site.....

Sign in front of the building......

The sign reads.......Ruble Church, Built 1835, "All are welcome here except those of Northern Principles." Aaron Ruble founder

It is the Belleview Christian College in Westminster, CO (just North of Denver). I'm assuming it's got a church somewhere in it, but I've not actually been there, so I can't confirm that. Anyway, here is the Google map:

Aha! Makes total sense - some kind of chapel inside for sure! It has a little bit of vibe from "The Shining", to me...
