normal wear of a knobbly when used on tarmac dont worry about it

a week point on the 950/990 is the sidestand,it mounts on to the crankcase and has been known to crack the engine case,i would avoid breaking the bead's of tyres and getting on/off the bike ect with the sidestand down

you can get re-location bracket for it

Did a long ride in Africa some years ago with a friend. Each of our bikes were packed about like yours... which is to say heavily. We met a guy with his girl 2 up on an Africa Twin somewhere in Namibia. When they took off, my friend and I were thinking how it would be hard having to share the bike with somebody... but it must make the nights a hell of a lot more fun!

Looks like it was a blast.

Thanks man! Yeah, a year later I read the owner's manual and I had at LEAST twice the recommended maximum weight on there...

It was actually way more fun to share it with her.

Only time it became tougher was when I tried to steady the bike with one foot at a police roadblock in Malawi after riding for a few hours straight and....the....bike...began...to....tip...... Was just too fekking heavy! One of my most embarrassing tip-overs. In front of TONS of people, of course.

This bike lives on in the hands of an Aussie up in Arusha by the name of Mick. Sold it on that Meat King mailing list! He will have years of fun to come with it. Stay safe out in TZ...gonna check out your ride reports now!

I've got a good Natron one up now and will post a few more in coming weeks.
