Kickin' it with the Boyz and awesome Mamas!!!!!

Watching the traffic jam at Goler wash helped me grow a pair of huevos to try and tackle that baby...

Say Herrhelmet, did you get any shots with me still on the bike

Having a nice big ass bruise brings a smile to my face as I remember what gave me the war wound. Fun times for sure!!!

Thanks my dear buddy Keith/Airborn Dad and Justin for sticking with me and showing me such a good time on Saturday's trails, as well as being the best sitemates around!

And, here's to the awesome chickee mamas representing our sex in the most amazing way possible! Yay for SuperSuz, Sopascat, Wayward and myself...

Good times continued well into the night with a Jr. Burning Man bon fire that gave the front row a sunburn and spark holes in their clothes...

Thanks all for such a damn good time this weekend. Unpacking from one fun time and packing up for the next. Overland Expo here I come.

Look for my DV ride report when I get back from the Expo after my first vendor's exhibit for my dual sport accessories business, Rugged Rider.

Thanks again Joel for putting together such a great event with class and flair! And, thanks Jimmy, Steve and Cathy for putting on such a great spread that sent our taste buds to new heights! Deelish!

Did anyone catch a picture of me dumping it on the stair step? I was on the KTM 690 w/ black safari, pointed straight in the air, ready for take off.

thursday afternoon

thursday morning weather was great, but prior to that, we were hit with heavy rain storm and cold spell on the first day of spring...

the plan was leave my house at 7am but cuz of flurries of last minute PMs and event details, i decided to take my time.

one PM i received that morning was from an inmate MrAirHead, it's a sad one, his father died (Dr. Robert Rosen), a fallen hero.

upon his request, i look for a place alone, found this and took a moment to think of moss' dad.

before i move on to my RR, i'm dedicating this picture to Dr. Rosen for his service to the community.

just 45 miles south of psr....and of course, many of you guys know by now it's not the "planet of the apes".....

most of my PMs were telling me that the storm made it difficult to come to the event.

the weather looks gloomy in the direction where i was heading

can out run the clouds, it seems they were always in front of me

nice sticker.... and the clear sky behind me

as i get closer to dv, the sky just got better

first time i saw this magnificent place was on the 1st nOObs rally

and if you want to find out more about the trona pinnacles

http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/ridgecrest/trona.html

check out this place next time you're on your way to dv; don't forget...the dumb nOObs literally rode through the pinnacles in 08...

I love the RR guys. I will be heading out there April 5-8. Are there any issues to deal with that you didn't think of before you left?

Does DV have bad misquitoes, speed traps, or any special concerns good old fashioned ADV common sense would miss?

Any words of advice?

bring lots of fuel, water and food.

dv is bigger than many of us think. the place is huge and your fuel range is your #1 limitation.

have fun, stay safe and ride with a buddy.

Is this Goler Wash? My mind must be going because I don't remember this section of the trail at all. This is the trail to Mengel pass and geologist cabin right? I remember some rocks but nothing like what the pictures show.
