It's just a little 150, really.

A friend had a Service Honda CRF 150R but with the 250F motor in it. Was a cool bike!

That's exactly what you're looking at.

I didn't buy it, still available and in Mass.
Going to go with a EVO bike, air cooled and drum brakes. bought this as the starting point, still need a xr 200 donor bike...

I understand power isn't priority in a build like this but why choose the xr200. 6 speed, extremely down on power?

Excellent question! Through my extensive research (i asked a couple guys who have built them) I have concluded that the lightweight of the 200 motor compared to the 250 is one reason and that it physically fits better in a 125 frame.
I thought about doing a 250(0r 350) in a 250 frame but love the handling of the 80 rm 125.
I also intend do some "minor" tweaking of the motor.

This is one done in a 80 CR 125 frame that races with us at ACR all the time.

Although starting with the same platform, it will not resemble this at all. I have a vision....Yamaduki? Hondukaha? Suyamada? need to work on a name

Cool2

How about stealing the motor out of a SP/DR 200?

Good question..... There are more Honda's as well as hop up parts for the xr motors around. I thought about keeping everything Honda or everything Suzuki but think I am going to pick the best of each brand I can.

I prefer the 80 RM frame to the Honda, I think the Honda Motor is better so looking for that. Also want to use the 76 YZ tank and seat because it is very slim and metal so I can paint it the color I want.

Just started a thread on the build over in Olds Cool

So I have no problem admitting defeat at this age, if a girl old or young passes me i say eh...a kid on a 85...eh Barcia passed me on his 65 and although it was demeaning I never lost sleep over it.

But a jump that I see kids and girls do and OLD guys and I can't get enough balls up to do it well I lose sleep over that. It haunts me, it taunts me in my dreams but I go back week after week and because of a lack of testosterone I don't do it. I tell myself it is because I have to work tomorrow, I have responsibilities, A good day of riding is one that you go home healthy.....bunch a crap.

So the jump that has been making fun of me, well actually telling me I am a pussy is a 30' blind deep gap double that is right out of a corner so you must maintain corner speed and then gas it in 3rd slipping the clutch to launch into a steep lipped jump with no idea of where the landing is.....well that is to much for me to process in a short time so as I approach the jump I clench my vagina and hit the brakes.....can't do it.

Thursday's track conditions were rough when I arrived but I am the guy who grooms the track and I had left work at 11 to arrive at noon so was able to spend a couple hrs on the D-4 dozer before everyone showed up. I re-did every jump and berm while the watering system laid more water on already perfectly moist soil, the traction would be epic! I spent the most time on the double that has tormented me all this time, first I did the landing making it perfectly rounded with a long landing ramp. I then went for the approach fixing the takeoff multiple times then tracking it in back and forth to ensure the lip stayed put for the day. I then made the berms approaching the jump perfect, they could have been seeded and mowed to a golf course finish....today was the day
