Found another two casualties: one rear mount for the skid plate broke completely off and the other is halfway there, and I blew out a fork seal either through the stoppie exercise or cranking down too tight in the back of the truck (never had a problem with it before...)

I have purple fork oil...must be the good stuff

Is the skid plate mounts repairable or replaceable? I am betting on the back of the truck...but on the bright side this will give you an opportunity to upgrade the forks if they aren't already. Hey Mike if you decide to do the fork rebuild let me know. I just happen to have a new set of Racetech springs for a DR 650.

Damn! Thanks guys!

I've already got stiffer springs up front, so all I really need to do is replace the oil and seals. I don't think I'm gonna mess with emulators or intiminators. The only thing I think I need for this job is to cut a piece of pvc to use as a seal driver unless there's a size that'll work fine as is - I haven't measured yet.

I already took the skid plate off and had a guy at work tack the mount back on. Next week I'll bring it in and lift the bike so we can get under there to weld it back on properly. It's a shitty design to start with though...might have to see if we can beef it up.
