Do you carry any survival gear of any sort when riding alone out there? I just saw 127 Hours and it's making me think

What do you consider "survival gear"? If its a phone, GPS, or a SPOT the answer is no.

If its the essentials of backcountry travel, what ever mode of mobility at the time is, then yes. ( first aid, food, water, light shelter, spare parts, tools, and the ability to defend myself )

The moto can get you into the outback quick and deep, acknowledging this is the first step. Way to many riders take this for granted, some of us cherish time by our selves being self reliant, and accept the consequences of our own actions.

Above all, common sense, being aware of your surroundings, having a plan B, and living in the NOW not the EXPECTED world.
