Heidenau make the tires for MEFO based upon MEFO's specs. The Heidenau and the MEFO look similar, however they are different in several aspects. I have also been told by the US importer that the MEFO are also not EU "DOT" on-road spec'd, where the Heidenau K60 are.

I read somewhere that the same company owns Mefo and Heidenau but it’s a little vague.
But I do know Heidenau supplies tyres for the UK military including bikes and I know how tight the MOD is, but in contrast take quality very seriously, arse covering.

Does the compound feel any different? Pulling the mold air vacators (rubber tabs) you can normally feel a difference, if any.

Seems to be a slight differance in the rubbers colour. Thanks for the comparison photo H2W.

I will check and let you know what the feel test tells me in a couple minutes. It will take me a few days to do a tire durometer reading as mine is loaned out presently.

Did you ever get around to this? What are your longer-term thoughts on the 150/70-18 K60 Scout?

Managed to try the K60 off road today, nothing really technical and dry conditions, hooks up well, I’d say slightly better than the Sahara 3.

My set has about 8K on them and other than the first 6K of flatroads I'd say they're the best set yet.
Very stable in rain and sleet snow, pretty decent in the sand and gravel, the only thing is muddy condtions they feel squirmy, but then again, so does any other tire with that much weight.

Here's less than 10,000kms and 55 pounds of bags and gear, how the heck do you guys get this kind of mileage? I've never gotten half of what people claim out of a 908 either.
