Photo and video documentation of the todays ride.

The tracks; 90% single track and 100% fun. I thought we were screwed because everything was muddy and slick until we got onto the mesa.

The scoots.

View to the west just as you get up the mesa.

View to the east on Pinion Mesa.

Taking a break on Pinion Mesa. The honda looks mean.

To get on the top part of the mesa there is a climb capped with a slick rock ledge followed by a sharp right turn. It is easy to keep too much momentum into the tight right turn.

Click on the image below to see the movie. I wasn't able to get it embedded correctly.

There would have been a ton more pictures of the absolutely gorgeous single track. The trail was just juniper dodging fun but unfortunately about halfway through (I should have marked it with the GPS) I took a "dirt nap". So there I was trying to keep up with inmate Brainless_1; I zigged when I should have zagged; tried to duck under a branch, was struck on the helmet (hard I might add), and ate dirt. I turns out that "dirt nap" is a misnomer because it was mud and there was nothing restful about the event. I jumped up. Rejoiced in the fact that I could still move all of my limbs. Needless to say the rest of the ride was much much slower.

The parts that I ordered are here, so hopefully I can get it to devons (hint hint) and I'm in business.

Had a blast. Must do it again, but with oout the newbie fall. That trail has really opened my eyes to single track, although I'm sure not that narrow to some, cough cough brainless.

What is the plan for this weekend?

I am waiting for parts. They should be shipped today and hopefully I will have them by Saturday. If I get the parts in time and have the motorcycle repaired I would like to go for another ride this sunday.

Well, everything is running lean and I was having that trouble with boiling over. It looks like this could be lean jetting so I ordered a JDjetting kit. I am going to attempt to install it tomorrow. Hopefully that will at least decrease the over heating problem.
