This DOES look like a fun trip! Alex and Tom are heading to Chico tonight to camp out at my 80 year old house,we got tools,DR parts,space to work on bikes if need be,Sierra Nevada brewery is close by if it comes to that.
I wish I was heading to South America!

May be too late to let you know, or maybe you know, RT1 into Big Sur is closed. Two separate slides. Take the 101 from Salinas. You could head to the 46 West and ride the coast to SLO.
