Help!!! 20007 Dakar ABS Cam Chain Tensioner Bolt????

I looked in the forums and found nothing about this topic.

I'm doing a valve shim on my 07 Dakar (ABS ~50'000km) and it's a known problem that the cam chain tensioner is nearly impossible to get to on ABS bikes. I have read all about it on f650.com and I though I would see if anyone here has any advice on how to re-install the cam chain tensioner bolt.

If you have done this then you know all about how impossible it is to get to this bolt, especially since you seem to have to press against the tensioner spring to get the threads started.....

What method did you use to overcome this?
  1. The custom tools on F650.com?
  2. Disassembling the whole sub frame and ABS system?
  3. Another method that I don't know about?
  4. You don't have this problem because you did something different?
If you did #2 and opened up the brakes, did you need it serviced at BMW before the ABS worked again (I have heard this can be a problem)....

Thanks!

I did get this solved by removing the cams and carrier to get some slack then reinstalling the bolt. However the cam did not want to go back in so rotated the crankshaft and used the cam chain to pull the cam into the carrier.
