Thanks for the ride guys. It was a good day filled with great people. I did not take but a few pictures.

Great spot for a break

I went the long way back after lunch, down Senator Highway to Pine Flats through Mayer and back to the truck. About a mile from the truck on Bloody Basin Road I came across this little guy.

I say little but, he was a good 4+ feet long. I guess this is proof that it is warming up!

So who is up for CK the back way?

Yesterdays ride was a blast and a great ride to get my feet wet on the 690. I will be looking forward to more of them. I took a few photos but I can't get them off of the card. I will keep working on it........time to pick up a new memory card.

BTW, I am "IN" for back side to CK and beyond next week.

Nothing but dust and traffic back to the trucks. Oldtimertc found that he lost an engine plug.

Nice!

Thanks for the most excellent RR, Nightstalker! Very good ride with a great group

On the ride back from CK I kept checking my front tire, as the bike felt a little squirrelly in the corners. At home I found a flat rear with a roofing nail in it. Doh!

Holy smokes! Glad you made it down the hill ok. I'm sure you picked up the nail on that road!

I checked my front a few times on the ride as well. The hard pack was very slick & kept trying to wash out on even the slightest ridges or off camber.

I'd bet the nail was from the return road as well.

Interesting... I didn't know you could go from 5 points south on Big Big Mesa road and connect back up with S Senator. That looked like a fun ride and pretty easy for the most part. I've been down Bodie Mine rd. but not the direction you guys took. I'll have to try that sometime in the future. Thanks for the pictures and ride map.

A little worthless history... Many, many years ago, I had a cousin born at Palace station back when Palace station was still a stage stop. My Jr. High PE teacher was Cal Cordes. His parents (or grandparents... can't remember) homesteaded Cordes Junction.

Yes, every weekend almost. Friday late afternoons/early evenings are maintenance days for some of us.
