Duvall, WA ride

Duvall, WA area

Thanks to SOLO LOBO for setting this up.

Apologies for the poor quality of my pics!

The plan was to rendevous in Carnation & head east into the hills.

In attendence where: SOLO LOBO (Airhead), Tork (Oilhead), Davidovich650 (KLR), GODSPEED (LC4), SOLO LOBO'S buddy - not (yet?) an ADV'er - I'll just call him the KLR killer (KLR) & the Drunkard (wee-Strom).

I was the first to arrive at the Rendevous. There just happened to be a Starbuck's nearby, so I grabbed a seat outside & waited.

Next on the scene was Davidovich650:

Along came GODSPEED:

Tork showed up on the big Beemer (no pic) followed by the KLR Killer. He'd had a bit of adventure on the ride in & his bike needed a little attention (L to R Killer, Davidovich, Tork):

Last on the scene was LOBO.

We had some coffe & did a little benchracing before heading out towards Stossel Creek Rd.

Davidovich took the point. His local knowledge was an asset all day (I was lost most of the time, not sure about the others...).

LOBO, Tork & GODSPEED:

Killer & Davidovich:

The crew:

Davidovich led us to this viewpoint overlooking the Skykomish River Valley:

Looking towards the sound:

More views:

More benchracing:

On the way back down:

GODSPEED:

GODSPEED & LOBO:

We got down to the main road & GODSPEED & LOBO bugged out to attend to other commitments.

The remaining four went onward with Davidovich on point.

At on point, we wound up on a dead-end & had to turn the bikes around.

The KLR Killer:

Tork rode the big Beemer like a Superhero all day. Here he'd stopped just short of the dead-end:

As he dismounted, the bike slid backwards!

Killer to the rescue!

We got the bikes turned around & headed back. Tork & I needed a little help turning around the big bikes.

Davidovich heads down first, this is more technical than the pics make it out to be, especially on a big bike:

Sasquatch or Drunkard?

Killer heads down. This pic gives a little better perspective of the slope:

Home free! Davidovich & Killer:

Davidovich on the way down:

Davidovich w/ Tork in the background (the Killer blew by before I had the Camera ready):

Tork:

On Stossel Creek Rd headed towards Sultan:

Back on the black stuff:

Ben Howard Rd.:

We stopped in Monroe for some grub, beverages and some more benchracing. L to R are Tork, Davidovich, the Killer & other Airhead rider we met in the parking lot:

From Monroe we went our seperate ways. I stopped on the way for some Sunday PUI supplies.

I enjoyed the ride & the company!

Look forward to riding w/ y'all again sometime. Hope I didn't offend w/ my propensity for four letter words!

Anyone else got photos?

CYA - The Drunkard.

Good ride report! Weather looked great for a NW ride in January. Noticed there were no water/mud hole crossings. Don't tell us you avoided them. Every ride report in W.Wash gotta have a water crossing photo.

SOLO LOBO- I was at the desert- Death Valley, it was a higher calling. There's more snow in the hills in DV than in Washington. Even a few water crossings there. Keep posting those rides and it may happen.

That's some cool stuff you guys were riding. I didn't realize there was that much going on in that area. I need a better map, I see...

Great report, and pix.

I was already committed. Spent Sunday down in Woodland, WA purchasing a vehicle, a 4x4 Jeep Ladero.

I'll keep my eyes peeld for the next outing.

We completely avoided the mud. We rode to Lynnwood Mall & watched an American Chopper video. I found these Pics on Google

Could you guys describe the basic route you guys took? I've heard of some good dual-sport riding in the Duvall area, but some pointers would be nice.
