Spring Fling at the Cabins May 6 - 8

Sorry if this is short notice but I actually thought I had the cabins sold and wasn't going to be able to do this but alas the deal fell through and I'm still in the cabin business.

Here's the deal... I'm inviting everyone and anyone to come to my cabins here on the first weekend of May for some great riding and a cookout Saturday evening. If you want to rent a cabin for that weekend, I'll knock 40% off the standard rate for 2 nights or more. I've got 9 cabins total ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms plus bunk cabins. If your a real cheapskate, you can camp for $10 per tent per night. This is really an excuse for me to get a kitchen pass to ride for a whole weekend.

PM me or call me at the cabins (number is at website) if you have any questions or if you want to come. The cookout will be mixed grill with hamburgers, Brats and chicken plus my dad's famous potato salad. BOYB and bring some to share. I hope to have a bonfire and maybe someone will bring a guitar.

Here are some pics from the last time we had one of these. Hope to see you there. This may be the last time as the cabins are still for sale.

Any proposed itinerary for Friday or Saturday? Ride a DRz400s so looking for more dirt than pavement. Maybe able to make it but not sure yet.

Lots of options. Nothing is set in stone. If we do last years ride, then we'll do about 80% gravel / FS roads with the rest being twisty pavement. No superslab!!! I'd like to go back to Dick's Creek and mess around a little more without my bike spraying oil down my leg.

Here's another pic from last fall.

I don't remember exactly but I think it was over 100. NC Okie might remember. Don't forget!. It's not the quantity that counts but the quality.

If I remember right I had a new Dunlop 606 put on before leaving for the ride up from Lillington. Rode up to Joe's spent a couple days riding the trails Joe had then a few days riding the roads in Tennessee with my other half and rode home on the 606.

I just put a new Kenda K761 (never had one) street tire on the rear but I guess I have time to order some new Pirelli MT21's.

Hope to make it!

Spring Fling

Hey Joe,

Anatic PM'd Xamot and I about the spring fling you guys are having. I won't be able to make it, the missus and I are expecting the birth of our son the last week of April/first week of May. Normally I wouldn't be too upset about not being able to make a ride, but I know what I'll be missing for this one!
Plus, I'm not really sure Baby Bjorn makes a motorcycle carrier.

Keep us posted if you do a get-together in the fall, I'll most likely require a few days (7-14 to be exact) R&R from chasing a 3 year old and a newborn around.

Hey SirSparkz! CONGRATS on the new Young'un. We'll miss you for sure. If I'm still in the cabin biz this fall, I'll definitely host another event. Probably sometime in September like last year.

Here's who's coming so far...

Lostmarbles
NC-Okie (a real hopeful maybe)
_anatic
Shallowskiff and son
and me

I've spoken to a few over the phone who have yet to actually commit. We're just 3 weeks away and I still have several cabins and some tent space available.

If the ride swings south a bit, I may tag along.
